I have a beach towel made from the same idea. It has 2 straps so that it can be worn back-pack style to the beach. The opening at the top allows me to stuff a book, my stitching,and sunscreen, etc. in there as well. I arrive at the shore hands free with all my needs in one easy to tote package. It`s a wonderful thing.

I made one for my grandsons Doll and one of these days I would like to make a big one and keep it in the car.

I was thinking about making quillows for my grands for the car. They will store easily and be handy for if they are chilly OR to toss over their carseats in the summer to keep the metal parts from getting so hot :D:D:D

Yeah, it's called a 'quillow' now. you can get that pattern almost anywhere off the internet for free:)

Thought I'd add my experience with making quillow a long time ago. I didn't like how they fit (or didn't) in the pocket, So, I decided to add bands to three sides. I doubled them (sewed right sides together then turned rso. I stitched them into seams of pillow on three sides. Each strip was finished so had small gaps at the corners...my thinking was that it would give more room for all of that blanket to fit in a little easier. A little tricky sewing onto quilt top, but it did work nicely and he still won't give it up! :) He just turned 17 last month.
