Pat625 09-15-2012 04:40 PM

carol aug...How do you put on the circles? Are they applique?

Ive been working at half pace today...Looks like I may have to finish the purses tomorrow...keep getting diverted with this computer!! But dont have much time left to finish..can get them done if not late tonight, tomorrow.....The delivery is Monday for all of them, so it's all good!! May stop for the night, and work on my handquilting project! Will post pics tomorrow when I have one of the kids to help me!

carolaug 09-15-2012 05:43 PM

Pat625, I used 506 spray and then I iron it on to the squares. Then its easy to applique since it is ironed onto the squares. Very easy and quick. I have two more rows to go than borders. Yah! We were really busy today so I was not able to spend the whole day sewing, I am too tired to do any more tonight.

AshleyR 09-15-2012 06:32 PM

Had too many errands to run to even dust off my sewing machine... ah well, there's always tomorrow!

deedum 09-15-2012 06:41 PM

Why of course. I am always ready for quilting. I have already been working on one this morning before church. I will continue after lunch this afternoon. One of the ladies at church will be coming over this afternoon and we will be working on quilted christmas ornaments for a while. Then I will go back to piecing the second tube quilt for a christmas present. I am busy with my christmas sewing during this time of the year.

It's Sunday morning and after the laundry is finished I have to go to work. BUT between customers I will be tracing new applique patterns that I just had enlarged. A whole bunch for seascapes, a bear with a salmon to go with three other bears and a moose, a clematis, a whole bunch for a garden quilt, big horn sheep and a lady golfer. Plenty to do!

Picture of most of the enlargements, all four bags full!

labtechkty 09-16-2012 06:16 AM

I am working on a Jacob's Ladder for my son's best friend ( whom I consider my second son)...

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, today, I have been working on hand sewing the binding on the quilt that I'm making for my brother. It has been a learning curve do me as this is the first time doing this task.

The quilt that I'm working on is at the following link: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...r-t199657.html

Pat G 09-16-2012 08:00 AM

I sure love your Attic Wiindows blocks.

No quilting today since I'm having a family gathering. I'll be leaving for Ariz. for the winter soon & my DGD is leaving for an educational trip to London in 2 wks. so this might be our last chance to be all together.

I watched Suzanne McNeill's video on "5 minute blocks" Fri. so I decided to make a block so I'd remember how to do it. I ended up with a cute tabletopper since I only had enough of that fabric for one block. It was so easy.

I'll try to put a pix into the QB's pix section.

gramacheri 09-16-2012 08:34 AM

Went to church, cooking Thanksgiving dinner (trial run because hubby thinks I might have forgotten how to do it from last year!) Taking furniture to son's house, then hopefully quilting later today. Actually I am making some fabric bowls for my sister to sell at her craft show in CA.

gramquilter2 09-16-2012 09:02 AM

I plan to start cutting some 1", 1 3/4', and 2" strips so I can begin Ditter's string quilt. I am making this quilt using white and off-white strips. Thanks for the tutorial you posted on the board Ditter.

Been working on my third christmas tree skirt, have 8 squares now pinned together in addition to having the center 3 panels sewn together. It is an Ohio star pattern and I have drawn 4 santas in the white squares on this one. The first one I did for myself, has winnie the pooh winter scenes in, the second one is green and white with snowmen drawn in the squares. I still have to quilt the snowman one, bind winnie the pooh one, and the last one has alot of sewing left. I pray I get them done before December.

donac 09-16-2012 02:19 PM

I got the squares done for my neice's quilt. Now just to lay it out.

Also pressed the fabric for another neice's quilt.

carolaug 09-16-2012 02:25 PM

skothing 09-16-2012 03:00 PM

NO it is beautiful outside today and I am going to the hills to enjoy the colours of the trees and pick-up apples and cider.

Jingle 09-16-2012 04:58 PM

I just read all of this and it is now Sunday night here. I sandwiched a quilt yesterday morning and started quilting it yesterday while doing laundry and a few other chores. I finished quilting it today after more laundry and cleaning floors. I fixed a real nice roast in crock pot and started hand sewing to the back. I now have fabrics picked out for my next quilt, just need to settle on a pattern. That is what I will be thinking about while I finish the binding. It is dark thread on dark fabric, after dark it gets much harder to see. I work a full time job so will be sewing after work.

Pat625 09-16-2012 06:53 PM

FINALLY finished the purses!! All I need to do is get the button for one tomorrow..Could not stay focused..kept getting on the computer and working on my hand quilting project...Tomorrow I have to get cutting my grandaughters quilt. Also have a new purse pattern I want to try...

pinebeltquilter 09-16-2012 07:13 PM

I will be making hanging sleeves for my quilt pieces that wil be in our Guild quilt show in a couple of weeks.

sewbizgirl 09-16-2012 07:15 PM

You inspired me. I had a stack of baby quilts all sandwiched and sitting for months. Over this weekend I got two of them quilted and bound... finished! It's a good feeling.

what I have been working on this weekend..The quilt is now about half quilted

liont 09-16-2012 07:24 PM

I did! I finished binding a Queen quilt. This is the first quilt I made for MYSELF :) Strange that we keep making quilts for everyone in the family except ourselves! Somehow, I am less fussy when I know it for me.

That is SO true..I actually kept a quilt for myself for the first time in 10 years of quilting. The reason was because noone else claimed it while I was working on it!!I was pretty fussy working on it, not realizing it was for me....But other sewing I do for myself I definitely am not as picky about...Congrats on your quilt, and enjoy it!!

Suze9395 09-16-2012 07:55 PM

After getting my hair done yesterday (new cut and color!) I went to joann's. I bought the extra wide white fabric for my Dresden plate quilt and got the supplies to make my DD a garment bag. I finished it last night, i even successfully put in a zipper! She is involved with different activities at school where she sometimes has to take a change of clothes and I thought this might be helpful. She loves it. But, she wants to use it as her official bag for her marching band uniform. Of course, that means she needs a another one. :D Oh darn, back to Joann's!
Mostly, I have been working on my GFG. 1/2 inch hexies. I have been obsessed for a few weeks now. :p

Dee 09-16-2012 08:11 PM

DH and I have been cleaning the rugs, cleaning out the pantry and will do the curtains and drapes next. Have a blouse on the table, but tired after all the work-yuk!. This week to VA with DH and maybe get to my sewing. Hate cleaning these items as its a thankless job.

earthwalker 09-16-2012 08:13 PM

Well...Monday midday here right now. Thought I'd check in on the QB as it's spring here and I haven't spent much time on my computer or at my sewing machine - my garden keeps "calling". Spent all weekend digging kikuyu out of my tomato beds ready for the heirloom seedlings I have grown in my little greenhouse. Still plodding away with my GFG in the evenings but after I've responded to this thread I'm devoting at least 3/4 of an hour to the string quilt I'm making for my future DIL...I love all the projects you are working on...most inspiring. Now off to sew I go....

penski 09-16-2012 09:38 PM
