can you guys tell me if it is really worth buying applique scissors or do regular scissors work just as well for appliqueing? I mean is the a distinct difference in the working of them?

I like them. It really helps to cut only the areas you want cut when you are removing the excess bulk.

What are they I have always used regular scissors or sometimes embroidery scissors for small pieces.

I got a pair at my LQS for under $10.00. The best part is that they are sharp right to the tip of the blade.

We use them in the embroidery shop and I use them when I am doing applique. Love them!

For me, I prefer a really sharp pair of regular scissors so I can get long, clean cuts to avoid jaggedy edges...If the piece is really small, I prefer a smaller pair of good scissors that have sharp tips for getting into corners, points, ect....

Oh my! That is probably the best investment I have ever made! I use mine all the time! They make it so easy to trim close with out the risk of snipping the fabric. I also use them when I do machine embroidery work.
For the price, you will definately find they pay for themselves in no time. Go for it!
