Just to show what you can do with a sweatshirt. I made this project for a recent swap and was kind of happy with the results - just wanted to show them off.

That is just precious!

Very nice, I like the neckline and sleeves, too. I have a couple of plain sweatshirts, will have to remember this one. Thanks for sharing, the recipient must have been thrilled or will be!

quiltsillysandi 06-05-2011 03:47 AM

That is adorable!! Is that your pattern??? Love it!

pattypurple 06-05-2011 05:15 AM

What a unique way to use a sweatshirt. I've made jackets but never seen anything like that. What pattern is it?

Deborah12687 06-05-2011 05:21 AM

that is really neat way to use T shirts

QuiltnNan 06-05-2011 05:28 AM

what creative talent! good job

dream56 06-05-2011 05:40 AM

The pattern is from freepatterns. com

It looked really easy until I started to make it. It was sure harder than it looked - even for someone who used to machine applique quite a bit, a long time ago.

And yes my partner absolutely loved it. Still hope to make myself one someday.

MelodyWB 06-05-2011 05:50 AM

Very pretty!!

joivey 06-05-2011 06:16 AM

This is beautiful. I've always wanted to try that, but never have. I think yours is the prettiest I have every seen.

Check under quilting and search for applique sweatshirt.

Why do we always make stuff for the ones we love and NEVER ourselves. That is so pretty, I want one too!!!

I understand that totally - but in the meantime it is so much fun receiving items made for ME in the swap too. This is from the Quilting in the New Year Swap.
Someday I will make one for myself.

VickyOH 06-06-2011 04:09 AM

I'd make her one but I can't sew. LOL. So I just give her support where I can.

red-warrior 06-06-2011 04:29 AM

This is by far one of the nicest sweatshirts I have seen!!! Did you have a pattern for the scalloped edges? Thanks so much for sharing, I too saved this one to try sometime!!
