Son picked out tumbling blocks for his quilt for bed at college. Kelly green and white are school colors. Got dark green, got kelly green, and after a LOONNNGGGG search finally got light green. Son hates the light green, "color of vomit like that Kia car" was the comment. For those of you who have done tumbling blocks, or another 3d looking quilt, would it still look 3d if I used white as the light color? I feel like crying. This is the second time I've bought the wrong fabric. Getting expensive, and knowing me, a harbringer of things to come. I think I will hate this quilt before I am done!! :) Virg

tone on tone white would look good. can you get a fat quarter of white, make up one block and see how it looks?

virgwid,

look at this link and you will get an idea of how white would look. scroll down a bit till you find the red/white/blue one. I think it will work.

Thank you all - especially JanieW. White should work fine. I think I will take the tone on tone advice too. Thanks so much!!

How about taking your son to a fabric store and let your him pick out the third color (and pay for it!)
