I got it on eBay from debsews.

There are some really beautiful fabrics there. When I decide what I'm going to do I may get something very subtle for a background and something for a border.

Oh my goodness. So pretty. I love them.

I went to your posted site. Big mistake on my part cause I could spend lots of money there. Her fabrics are beautiful. I'm going back after payday.

Thanks for the link. I was thinking earlier about a pattern that had the little end of the fan instead of the traditional 1/4 circle and there is one there. I like the idea of the solid fan to show the fabric but I think it would be cool to actually take that solid and cut it into the fan wedges, sew them back together so that the fabric pattern is interrupted at each wedge like an actual fan might be when it is opened.

I was also thinking of embroidering a black tassel where the fan meets the triangle base and runs out of the block onto the border, like it is hanging outside the "window" of the block.

Beautiful!
I have some of the red that's there. Got it at Walmart. I do have a couple pieces of the yellow color too!
It's really pretty stuff!

Pam, Shiboridragon.com sells a great fan ruler along with some great patterns for that fabulous fabric and there service is great - quick and very responsive to feedback.

Pam - how about the silhouette of a woman and child carrying parasols or fans, standing in a flower garden? You could make a back view - hair and kimono - so you wouldn't have to worry about the faces. Border the quilt as they are walking toward or are in a garden.

Also check out Kumiko Sudo's books. She has meticulous instructions and some very creative ideas.
