I'll check with some friends in ABQ that might have gone to see it "in person"

I am betting you have gotten a pattern that is not complete ... as in you got the picture on the front, and the cutting directions/supplies on the back, but in the middle of that are the step by steps.
The reason I say this is because I have seen the designers on Simply QUilts and I own a number of their patterns ... call them back and tell them that the pattern is not complete ... I am thinking there are about five type written papers (or more) missing from the plastic bag you received the pattern in.
And, did you buy it from LQS or the company?
see what I am saying?

I got it from SW Decoratives - It contained 1 sheet with picture of quilt and on back had General Information - Method of Construction which only told how to straighten the fabric
1 sheet that said make 1 section at a time and use diagram and picture on pattern cover
1 template sheet
1 diagram sheet
1 cutting guide that lists the sections with size of strips(but no clue as to what comes first etc. - maybe I am just dense or something, but it is confusing to me

Well, that sounds like everything. Is this the very first thing you have tried? You are probably not dense, just not familiar with the way the people designed their instructions. Keep reading through them and it might start making more sense ... sort of like getting caught in a wave ... if you fight the wave, you will sink, but if you let it carry you, you will reach the shore in time (but, do not rest if you are in an outgoing tide!)
Maybe I need to order the pattern and work through it with you? It is a design I wouldn't mind working on, and if you think I could help you, I would be willing to do that. <wave>

omak- that is so kind of you, but maybe like you say I'll keep reading through it and maybe it will start making sense. That is the kindest gesture -

Well, sometimes, two heads are better than one, and the pattern is a pretty straight forward design, so it will be a snap for you as soon as you can translate what the designers are trying to impart.

Done and done!
The pattern should get here in a few days! I almost ordered the kit, but decided that hubby really didn't need any more fabric to trip over <g>.
Have you heard about the one day mystery on Planet Patchwork set for New Year's Day? (speaking of which I have to cut some fabric to get ready for it  )
Anyway, how about if we set after the New Year for working on this quilt, and who knows? By then, you will have figured it out, eh? <wave>

no haven't heard about the first one - and yes it would be great to start in January - thanks so much

Do you know about bookmarking this thread within this board so you can find your way back here?
I will go find that mystery quilt in a day link so you can see if you would like to play with that <wave>

http://planetpatchwork.com/Mystery129/default.htm

follow the links to the cutting and supply page which I highly encourage you to cut fabric ahead, because the day of the mystery is NOT the day to be doing it! <g> (Don't ask how I know ;-) )
