Attractive "Quick" blocks to make.
It would be interesting to hear what “Quick”, but attractive blocks you like to make. In keeping in the same thought process, what blocks to you like to make together that play well with each other. In other words if you want to use two different quilt blocks next to each other in your quilt, which two seem to look good together.
Example: A pinwheel next to a 16 patch, looks good and make for a very interesting design. |
There was a fabulous quilt consisting of nothing but large half square triangles (6” finished) posted by someone on another board. It used Tilda fabrics, each block made up of 1 pattern and 1 solid. The free pattern is here: https://www.tildasworld.com/wp-conte...ners-Quilt.pdf
It was very similar to the quilt Cat-on-a-Mac made with Kaffe fabrics (half print/half solid) that is being discussed here:https://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f...t-t319012.html A nice easy and “safe” way to use big colorful prints. |
I have made a couple baby quilts from this pattern. They turned out beautifully! The pattern is easy, and fun to make with a main theme fabric and supporting fabrics. I alternated the position of the main fabric from block to block (large piece, small pieces) to give the quilt more variety. https://weallsew.com/project-linus-s...quilt-pattern/

My go to quick two block pattern is the Warm Wishes quilt. Pattern choice is the key to an elegant quilt. Here is the free pattern

My latest fast block is Hugs and Kisses. Charm, scrappy friendly. Snwball two oppisite corners and done.

I like square in a square and a simple 9 patch together from scrappy fabrics.

This quilt does look easy, For project Linus, quick, easy and spectacular is a bonus. I donate many quilts each year to PL. Often I just try out new patterns and then check that try off my list. The "spectacular" quilt pattern has now jumped on my list. Thanks for the good idea and website. |
