I think the green would be better. The plaid is nice but it would take the focus away from the piecing. Love that pattern!
That plaid is JUST PERFECT! Look "made for each other".
Either one will be a lovely finish. I love your color choices, sherbet: Orange & Lime. I adore poppies, also. I'm still learning to step out of my comfort zone. |

Love your quilt. Like both borders. If you have enough fabric how about the green border and plaid back? What is the name of the pattern, please?

My choice is the 2nd one green border
I like the first one best.
The green is nice!!!!
While neither of your two border fabrics is "wrong," I prefer the mottled green print over the plaid. Yes, the colors in the plaid are in your quilt, but the plaid seems to draw attention to itself. The mottled green print flows from the intricacy of your quilt blocks toward the binding and allows the eye to rest before it gets there. I hope this makes sense to someone besides me.
Green....I think the plaid makes it "too busy".
The solid green. The checked is too distracting from the beauty of the quilt.
I like the green. It gives your eye a place to rest, and frames the piecing nicely without detracting from it.
I love the plaid but I think it makes it too "busy" so I guess the green would be better. Both are nice.
I like the colors in the first one, but not the plaid pattern

I like the second one better, though either would do nicely.
Love the plaid but would trim it to remove the blue down the side.
I like the plaid!!
I like the poka dot better
I like the plaid. I always like outside the box. Take a walk on the wild side. lol
I like both...but think I'd go with the green border, and use the plaid for a fun binding. :)
I love the plaid. Makes it a "fun" quilt. The green is nice, but "safe". I prefer fun to save.
I like the green better. I think the plaid draws your eye away from the pattern.
I like the plaid bestbut I'd like to see it used on the bias and that would mean probably having to buy more fabrics and piecing a plaid together is hard ...much easier to use the green and that's very nice too.
This is my 2 cents for what it is worth you have had a lot of really great responses. I prefer the green it gives the eye a place to rest as you wonder in and out of the pattern your fabrics are beautiful by the way and love the pattern you chose for them. The plaid is nice but it compete's with the poppy fabric I don't know what I want to look at first.

Continuing on the poppy quilt as I am preparing borders, I got stuck and can't decide which on I like better.
Here is the beginning: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...k-t270197.html Let Me know which one you like! One is more on the fun side and the other more traditional. I like them both so need the votes to help. Size is not a matter, it is not for anyone in particular and is waiting for a forever home. A.g close up B. close up Thanks in advance of all your help. peace I like the last one best. |
Hi, green for me
I prefer the green, but go with your heart!
I love the green.
I love the second and if it's looking for a forever home, I have room here! :)
I like the green also
I love the colors and your choices for border. I have seen quilts where the border was mixed -- like an "L" shape where one border went across the top and down one side and the other border went across the bottom and up the other side. That way you could use both border fabrics.
Much prefer the second choice, or "solid" green. I think the plaid fights too much with your flower print and your dots and checks. Love your quilt, by the way! Such great colors and prints. And the pattern, too. This is going to be so very very pretty!
Love how we all get an opinion! I am a fan of the plaid look. It is fun and interesting. The green is fine...but to me it feels expected and a little safe. I would fall in love with the quilt with a plaid border. Cannot wait to see what you choose!
My vote goes for B. I think there is already enough variety in the fabrics in the body of the quilt.
Very nice quilt ! I like both of them!
I like the solid color. Pretty colors...
I love the green!! It is so pretty!!
Have some fun and go with the plaid!
I am not a fan of green, but I think it is just perfect on that quilt
I vote for the second one.
