Yes, exactly this.

I think the green would be better. The plaid is nice but it would take the focus away from the piecing. Love that pattern!

quiltmouse 11-09-2015 01:04 PM

That plaid is JUST PERFECT! Look "made for each other".

Either one will be a lovely finish.

I love your color choices, sherbet: Orange & Lime. I adore poppies, also.

I'm still learning to step out of my comfort zone.

Love your quilt. Like both borders. If you have enough fabric how about the green border and plaid back? What is the name of the pattern, please?

The name is called Celtic Squares. Follow the link at the top of this thread ( in blue letters) it will take you to all the info and how I put it together.

NIICHMOM 11-09-2015 02:43 PM

My choice is the 2nd one green border

cannyquilter 11-10-2015 02:48 AM

I like the first one best.

msrosecooks 11-10-2015 03:31 AM

The green is nice!!!!

youngduncan 11-10-2015 04:06 AM

While neither of your two border fabrics is "wrong," I prefer the mottled green print over the plaid. Yes, the colors in the plaid are in your quilt, but the plaid seems to draw attention to itself. The mottled green print flows from the intricacy of your quilt blocks toward the binding and allows the eye to rest before it gets there. I hope this makes sense to someone besides me.

LGJARN52 11-10-2015 04:16 AM

Green....I think the plaid makes it "too busy".

sewnsewer2 11-10-2015 04:18 AM

The solid green. The checked is too distracting from the beauty of the quilt.

Kris P 11-10-2015 04:59 AM

I like the green. It gives your eye a place to rest, and frames the piecing nicely without detracting from it.

jmoore 11-10-2015 04:59 AM

I love the plaid but I think it makes it too "busy" so I guess the green would be better. Both are nice.

Normabeth 11-10-2015 05:54 AM

I like the colors in the first one, but not the plaid pattern

Oh, oh oh, I'm doing a happy dance! I, too, collect the old magazines and I just happen to have that issue! I'm going to try one block using the template method and see how it goes. Thank you so very, very much!

carolynjo 11-10-2015 06:20 AM

I like the second one better, though either would do nicely.

AZ Jane 11-10-2015 06:26 AM

Love the plaid but would trim it to remove the blue down the side.

dianeinsterling 11-10-2015 06:55 AM

I like the plaid!!

josie bass 11-10-2015 07:44 AM

I like the poka dot better

nena 11-10-2015 07:46 AM

I like the plaid. I always like outside the box. Take a walk on the wild side. lol

Mariposa 11-10-2015 08:07 AM

I like both...but think I'd go with the green border, and use the plaid for a fun binding. :)

scrapngmom 11-10-2015 10:24 AM

I love the plaid. Makes it a "fun" quilt. The green is nice, but "safe". I prefer fun to save.

tlpa 11-10-2015 10:39 AM

I like the green better. I think the plaid draws your eye away from the pattern.

AnnaF 11-10-2015 11:22 AM

I like the plaid bestbut I'd like to see it used on the bias and that would mean probably having to buy more fabrics and piecing a plaid together is hard ...much easier to use the green and that's very nice too.

roserips 11-10-2015 12:57 PM

This is my 2 cents for what it is worth you have had a lot of really great responses. I prefer the green it gives the eye a place to rest as you wonder in and out of the pattern your fabrics are beautiful by the way and love the pattern you chose for them. The plaid is nice but it compete's with the poppy fabric I don't know what I want to look at first.

Let Me know which one you like! One is more on the fun side and the other more traditional. I like them both so need the votes to help. Size is not a matter, it is not for anyone in particular and is waiting for a forever home.

I like the last one best.

berthah 11-10-2015 02:08 PM

Hi, green for me

canuckninepatch 11-10-2015 02:26 PM

I prefer the green, but go with your heart!

fangman 11-10-2015 02:55 PM

I love the green.

redquilter 11-10-2015 03:40 PM

I love the second and if it's looking for a forever home, I have room here! :)

annette1952 11-10-2015 04:28 PM

I like the green also

Dakota Rose 11-10-2015 04:54 PM

I love the colors and your choices for border. I have seen quilts where the border was mixed -- like an "L" shape where one border went across the top and down one side and the other border went across the bottom and up the other side. That way you could use both border fabrics.

Friday1961 11-10-2015 06:47 PM

Much prefer the second choice, or "solid" green. I think the plaid fights too much with your flower print and your dots and checks. Love your quilt, by the way! Such great colors and prints. And the pattern, too. This is going to be so very very pretty!

YukonViv 11-10-2015 09:48 PM

Love how we all get an opinion! I am a fan of the plaid look. It is fun and interesting. The green is fine...but to me it feels expected and a little safe. I would fall in love with the quilt with a plaid border. Cannot wait to see what you choose!

kaylfordsollimo 11-10-2015 11:47 PM

My vote goes for B. I think there is already enough variety in the fabrics in the body of the quilt.

Fotoula 11-11-2015 02:57 AM

Very nice quilt ! I like both of them!

mjhaess 11-11-2015 07:34 AM

I like the solid color. Pretty colors...

#1piecemaker 11-11-2015 07:36 AM

I love the green!! It is so pretty!!

joym 11-11-2015 12:06 PM

Have some fun and go with the plaid!

IBQUILTIN 11-11-2015 02:44 PM

I am not a fan of green, but I think it is just perfect on that quilt

fish92241 11-11-2015 07:28 PM

I vote for the second one.
