audition fabrics for "Oh Poppycock"

Continuing on the poppy quilt as I am preparing borders, I got stuck and can't decide which on I like better.

Here is the beginning:

Let Me know which one you like! One is more on the fun side and the other more traditional. I like them both so need the votes to help. Size is not a matter, it is not for anyone in particular and is waiting for a forever home.

Personally I like the green better. It fits in with the pattern an design of the poppies better

BrendaK 11-08-2015 11:12 AM

Real kool quilt. I like the first border but I am drawn to the second. So guess I will have to say the second border. Which ever one you use it will be a super quilt. BrendaK

Jeanne S 11-08-2015 11:14 AM

I also like both but my fav is the second one.

ManiacQuilter2 11-08-2015 11:20 AM

I like the 2nd option with the bright narrow accent and the green. You have a busy focus fabric and the plaid is a busy plaid. Just my opinion.

Tartan 11-08-2015 11:22 AM

Either border is nice. I think I would go with the green just because it lets the center piecing shine.

mike'sgirl 11-08-2015 11:30 AM

I have that poppy fabric. I love it. I like the green the best. Cute quilt.

Crqltr 11-08-2015 11:32 AM

I really liked the plaid..until I saw the green...that's the one I vote for.

lynnie 11-08-2015 11:39 AM

I'm the odd one out, I like the plaid

JuneBillie 11-08-2015 11:53 AM

I like both equally. One is more conservative, and expected. The plaid is more playful, but looks equally nice.

busy fingers 11-08-2015 11:55 AM

The plain just sets off the design and focus fabric beautifully.

Diane007 11-08-2015 11:56 AM

I vote the green...

landers1 11-08-2015 11:59 AM

I like the green

kathy 11-08-2015 12:43 PM

if it's for me, I choose the plaid!

Barb in Louisiana 11-08-2015 12:56 PM

I like both and would love to see the plaid rotated 45 degrees. I know.....a lot of bias, but I think the playful look would be fun. It would mean a lot of matching on the seams to get it to flow correctly....Probably too much trouble. The green will be fine.

zozee 11-08-2015 12:58 PM

The plaid is fun and certainly is perfect colorwise, but I think it competes with the design of the quilt. I'd say use the green and save the plaid for a plainer quilt, or use it somehow on the back. Or, binding??

MarLeClair 11-08-2015 01:22 PM

I like the third picture.

KARENBOUTQUILTIN 11-08-2015 01:24 PM

Like them both but 2nd one, green, I like best. Great quilt which ever you chose.

QUILTNMO 11-08-2015 01:41 PM

i like the green nice !!

nativetexan 11-08-2015 02:37 PM

yep, the green one seems best. but they both would work.

QM 11-08-2015 03:08 PM

Both are nice. For me, it would depend on how comfortable you are with large showy border quilting. I would select the second to quilt with leaves, poppies, feathers or waves.

cjackaitlin 11-08-2015 03:26 PM

Pretty quilt my choice is the second fabric Thanks for sharing.

grandmary 11-08-2015 03:35 PM

what if you cut the plaid on the bias as the narrow strip with the wider green fabric? I like the quilt, the colors are happy!

This is a great idea if only I had enough fabric to cut on the bias. I'll have to try folding it to see how it looks and then figure if I can squeak it out, if I choose the plaid. Or, maybe I'll have to go shopping.

I really think the plaid is a neat surprise and unexpected. But, the green is calmer looking and safe. I am torn between the two. Aghhhh.:D

I like this idea too. This may be the best of both worlds!

I like the plaid too. The green is safe and beautiful also. Tough choice and which ever you decide will be the perfect one.

Just Jan 11-08-2015 04:18 PM

Love your quilt. Like both borders. If you have enough fabric how about the green border and plaid back? What is the name of the pattern, please?

mucky 11-08-2015 04:48 PM

I line the 2nd to last.

ladypetite 11-08-2015 05:07 PM

I vote for #3. Love the way the green brings the center of the quilt to life :-)

margied 11-08-2015 05:11 PM

#3 - the narrow solid green is my favorite

Merrylin 11-08-2015 05:42 PM

With the busy floral print, I like the green one better.

Maureen NJ 11-08-2015 05:48 PM

I also like the green better. I think the green on the plaid is off just a little from the poopy print.

Bluebonnets 11-08-2015 07:59 PM

I think the poppies show up better with the green and it's a better look over all but I love the plaid and the fun factor. It's unexpected and in my opinion exciting.

kayluvs2quilt 11-08-2015 09:26 PM

I like the green border and then would bind the quilt with the plaid.

Quilter 65 11-09-2015 04:25 AM

I like the blender green. Great idea for the stop border to be on the bias plaid or to use it in the binding. Both would be unexpected but I like the way the green focuses the eye to the middle. Very pretty quilt.

donna873 11-09-2015 04:56 AM

I like them both so I think I would do both.

Yooper32 11-09-2015 05:06 AM

B the solid green. Plaid fights with the poppies, in my mind and eye.

Evelynquilts 11-09-2015 05:08 AM

I like the green beat :)

lfletcher 11-09-2015 06:28 AM

I think the plaid is more interesting, but either one would work.

Dollyo 11-09-2015 07:27 AM

You could do a bias binding w/the plaid.
