audition fabrics for "Oh Poppycock"
4 Attachment(s)
Continuing on the poppy quilt as I am preparing borders, I got stuck and can't decide which on I like better.
Here is the beginning: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...k-t270197.html Let Me know which one you like! One is more on the fun side and the other more traditional. I like them both so need the votes to help. Size is not a matter, it is not for anyone in particular and is waiting for a forever home. A. Personally I like the green better. It fits in with the pattern an design of the poppies better
Real kool quilt. I like the first border but I am drawn to the second. So guess I will have to say the second border. Which ever one you use it will be a super quilt. BrendaK
I also like both but my fav is the second one.
I like the 2nd option with the bright narrow accent and the green. You have a busy focus fabric and the plaid is a busy plaid. Just my opinion.
Either border is nice. I think I would go with the green just because it lets the center piecing shine.
I have that poppy fabric. I love it. I like the green the best. Cute quilt.
I really liked the plaid..until I saw the green...that's the one I vote for.
I'm the odd one out, I like the plaid
I like both equally. One is more conservative, and expected. The plaid is more playful, but looks equally nice.
The plain just sets off the design and focus fabric beautifully.
I vote the green...
I like the green
if it's for me, I choose the plaid!
I like both and would love to see the plaid rotated 45 degrees. I know.....a lot of bias, but I think the playful look would be fun. It would mean a lot of matching on the seams to get it to flow correctly....Probably too much trouble. The green will be fine.
The plaid is fun and certainly is perfect colorwise, but I think it competes with the design of the quilt. I'd say use the green and save the plaid for a plainer quilt, or use it somehow on the back. Or, binding??
I like the third picture.
Like them both but 2nd one, green, I like best. Great quilt which ever you chose.
i like the green nice !!
yep, the green one seems best. but they both would work.
Both are nice. For me, it would depend on how comfortable you are with large showy border quilting. I would select the second to quilt with leaves, poppies, feathers or waves.
Pretty quilt my choice is the second fabric Thanks for sharing.
what if you cut the plaid on the bias as the narrow strip with the wider green fabric? I like the quilt, the colors are happy!

I really think the plaid is a neat surprise and unexpected. But, the green is calmer looking and safe. I am torn between the two. Aghhhh.:D peace |

I like the plaid too. The green is safe and beautiful also. Tough choice and which ever you decide will be the perfect one.
Love your quilt. Like both borders. If you have enough fabric how about the green border and plaid back? What is the name of the pattern, please?
I line the 2nd to last.
I vote for #3. Love the way the green brings the center of the quilt to life :-)
#3 - the narrow solid green is my favorite
With the busy floral print, I like the green one better.
I also like the green better. I think the green on the plaid is off just a little from the poopy print.
I think the poppies show up better with the green and it's a better look over all but I love the plaid and the fun factor. It's unexpected and in my opinion exciting.
I like the green border and then would bind the quilt with the plaid.
I like the blender green. Great idea for the stop border to be on the bias plaid or to use it in the binding. Both would be unexpected but I like the way the green focuses the eye to the middle. Very pretty quilt.
I like them both so I think I would do both.
B the solid green. Plaid fights with the poppies, in my mind and eye.
I like the green beat :)
I think the plaid is more interesting, but either one would work.
You could do a bias binding w/the plaid.
