Auditioning Hexagon Backgrounds

2 Attachment(s)
I'm stuck. I was convinced I needed a white background but now I'm not sure?

Wondering if white looks better when complete? and color looks better in a small dose like this photo? PLUS I need layout help. I was tying to do in EQ7 but hexagons are a real pain to draw (don't come with program).

Planned layout (similar)

Any help appreciated!

I like the blue but you can't go wrong with any of them they all look good to me

Tough choice but your quilt looks great!!

If you are going to have red in every hexie I would personally choose the red stripe. Awesome. However it is your quilt so that is just one opinion. :)

Looking at the quilt example you are holding up it looks like you might prefer the lighter background. If so I would go with a tone on tone white. :)

I really like the lighter background as shown in the sample. It shows off all the other colors so much better. Do you know where the pictured quilt can be found?

I really like the quilt that is displayed so if you want it looking like that, I would use the white. The fabrics are bright and bold and using another color as the background might just bring down the POP of the hexagons.

I would go with the 'white'. If the other large hexagons are also in the quilt they would play better on white.

Wow love the colors! I'm starting a red centered GFG, I'll be using white as my back ground. I actually love the orange, blue and red though. I agree the flowers might pop more on white though.

I would go with the white but I would replace the large floral with the white background. It will disappear on the white. Or if you can't replace that one I would look at possibly going with the bright green in the print or another color not as a print background but as an accent color in the line. The bright green looks good with the sample quilt.

I like the light blue/aqua background the best as it helps balance the bright reds. But the white background will be nice too!
