To me, A is alot more attractive. It looks more complex. B looks skinnier as already pointed out, and looks like it has more white space, as already pointed out. I agree with all those opinions.

[QUOTE=bearisgray;7865901]Do you prefer A or B?
If you have a preference, why? I prefer A, but my reasoning is very different from others. In B, there are many seam matches that may look jagged if not very accurate. The outer lines from the 3-part piecing and the blocks have to match all the way across/up-and-down in B. In A, slight "off matches" will not be as obvious. With A, you will also have more opportunities for differences in color, scale, and intensity. |
I like A because it is more interesting to the eye.....well my eye any way.
I like A because of the line up of the blocks, B looks like railroad tracks and A brakes it up. Not that B is bad, I just like the set up of A
It will depend upon the actual fabrics, but I think "B" is easier on the eye.
I like B better - just flows for me.
I prefer A. Although B is attractive, it has a common look.

Now what do you think? A+O or B+O ?
A - quirky.

A for me too!

Now which do you prefer?

B appeals to me more, but I think the fabric choices could influence that too.
I like the B better for all the reasons mentioned. It looks woven. It looks pleasing to the eye. It joins the blocks and make it flow.
A is my vote
Like A ..It looks like you did a lot of work on this one
I like B best
I agree! I vote for A ~ it looks like it has a bit more going on

Bear, what did you end up doing?

I was trying to draw what I thought someone was describing. But that thread was deleted, so I never found out if it was or not. Then I decided to keep on going with seeing how it looked by turning the strip units and by adding colors. A and B used exactly the same units - the difference was that the strip units were perpendicular to the orange squares in A and perpendicular to the brown squares in B. An illustration of why/how a design wall can be helpful - and capturing the images as one changes the design can help make a decision. It was one of those (since i don't have EQ) let's see what happens things - I think if I had drawn them as square tops instead of rectangles, the choices might have changed. |
They don't look very different to me. Maybe I need more coffee. :)
