How about an I-spy? I made this one to look like hot air



ETA---I was planning on a 2nd one that would look like balloons in the air, strings would lead down to the hand of a clown

I agree with "I Spy". There are lots of ways to make them. The hot air balloons is a good idea or just make squares with sashing, one for the boy, one for the girl.

I would check out the lawn chair quilts on Moda Bake Shoppe- they are adorable.
