I have a Janome for my back up machine. I really like it!

It would make sense (to me, at least, lol) to have another Janome. That way, all your feet, possibly bobbins, are likely to fit, saving you money in the long run.

Sometimes the sewing machine repair folks have used machines for sale. They can be really good bargins. My Kenmore that was purchased in 1999 pooped out on me this weekend. Sure was glad to have an OLD Necchi portable as a backup. The good news is, the part is ordered for the Kenmore and I'll be back to my favorite machine soon.

My Janome is now my back up machine. I now use a Juki 2000. After piecing on that machine, I don't use my Janome unless I need to have a free arm or anything other than a straight stitch which I'm finding out isn't very often anymore!
I love my Juki. It's built to last. I'm not a fan of the older machines. I like having a needle threader and the higher speed of my Juki. I seem to get more done faster now which is also a huge benefit.

Well I got a brand new janome platinum 720. Perfect for taking to classes and retreats. Not for quilting but definitely for piecing. Got a great price too!After looking at several used machines, this was the best deal. And a five year warranty.

I have the Janome Horrizon which I love, but I wouldn't want to take it out to classes or retreats. So now I got a Janome Platinum to take out & I love it. Right now I'm waiting for our dealer to get in one of those old ski style shaped zipper foot. There are times when I need one like it. She told me they are available.I needed one to sew on some pearls, so had to get out the old singer.Other than that old zipper foot I'm stuck on Janome.
