Gray it is! I reallly like it with the yellow.
Yet another vote for grey, the fabrics look so much better on it rather than the white.
I prefer the gray also. softens it a bit and gray is in right now.
I vote for the gray. :)
How about black ????
I would go with the gray, all blend together. I personally think the white is stark next to the other beautiful colors.
I agree. Go with gray.
Gray it is! Thanks for your time and advice.
I vote for the gray. While the white indeed makes the yellow fabrics pop, the gray seems to become a soothing element which allows the yellows to speak rather than shout. If you think too much gray might be a problem, then use white corner blocks to break up the horizontal and vertical lines. After that, use a narrow white border and a wider gray border to frame your finished masterpiece.
looks like gray is unanimous... Usually I prefer white, but in this instance gray compliments your fabrics best.
If it were me, I think I would use a darker gray. It would make the colors POP
I like the grey, too, but do you have any way of seeing whether it's the right shade for their sofa? Greys have a lot of different undertones, like blacks and whites do, and it might really look bad if they don't work well together.
I with many of the others - Gray it is!
I like the gray best but if it clashes with the sofa gray it may not be the best choice.
I would use white.
IMHO white or black.
The white will give a fresh crisp loo. The black more dramatic. While grey would be nice ... unless you can match to the grey couch, you are running a huge risk that they will not, and thus, your quilt will look disastrous with the couch. I agree! |
Gray for me, too. Gray is the new white in the quilting world.
The grey has a more elegant look where the white looks so plain.
Ask your niece which one SHE prefers. I always check out the colors with the person getting the quilt. Then the color isn't my problem/fault any longer.
Gray makes the other colors stand out. So I vote: Gray.
If the couch is gray then if you use the gray sashing it will disappear. I like the gray a lot though. If you use the white it will pop against the sofa better.
my vote is for the gray too.
gray gets my vote too. It will be beautiful.
Just to twist it up further how about a lighter shade of green from the leaves?
I vote for the grey, as you have several grey or grey toned fabrics. I like your fabrics.
Black for sure... it would look dramatic and expensive. If not black, then darker gray. Just MHO. :-)
The gray. Don't know why just like it better.
Can you tell me who makes the striped fabric with the flowers? I would love to have some of that. Thanks
I think it depends on what you are wanting to end up with. Gray is calm and blending while the white makes all the colors (even the gray) really pop. The black would make the whole thing very dramatic and elegant. Love your fabric especially the yellow flowers.
A dark gray.
I LOVE these fabrics from Loralie Designs! I think both look good, the gray kind of reads more serious and adult. The white reads more playful and summer.
What is the company that made the striped fabric with the flowers . . . crazy about it!
I'm in the minority but I also like the white. I agree that it makes the fabrics pop. I love your choice of fabrics. Whatever you do, it will make a lovely quilt.
I really like the grey and then a dark binding.
Gray makes the colors pop. Happy quilting
I vote for gray.
Grey- whhite too stark for me
Gray is definitely more sophisticated.
gray the one
Gray, for me!
