Gray it is! I reallly like it with the yellow.

Craftnut 03-31-2014 01:31 PM

Yet another vote for grey, the fabrics look so much better on it rather than the white.

nativetexan 03-31-2014 03:29 PM

I prefer the gray also. softens it a bit and gray is in right now.

Mariposa 03-31-2014 03:45 PM

I vote for the gray. :)

ManiacQuilter2 03-31-2014 05:59 PM

How about black ????

galinchico 03-31-2014 07:32 PM

I would go with the gray, all blend together. I personally think the white is stark next to the other beautiful colors.

cathyvv 03-31-2014 07:43 PM

I agree. Go with gray.

debbiemarie 03-31-2014 08:59 PM

Gray it is! Thanks for your time and advice.

youngduncan 04-01-2014 02:49 AM

I vote for the gray. While the white indeed makes the yellow fabrics pop, the gray seems to become a soothing element which allows the yellows to speak rather than shout. If you think too much gray might be a problem, then use white corner blocks to break up the horizontal and vertical lines. After that, use a narrow white border and a wider gray border to frame your finished masterpiece.

jmoore 04-01-2014 02:51 AM

looks like gray is unanimous... Usually I prefer white, but in this instance gray compliments your fabrics best.

twinkie 04-01-2014 03:08 AM

If it were me, I think I would use a darker gray. It would make the colors POP

quiltmom04 04-01-2014 03:54 AM

I like the grey, too, but do you have any way of seeing whether it's the right shade for their sofa? Greys have a lot of different undertones, like blacks and whites do, and it might really look bad if they don't work well together.

citruscountyquilter 04-01-2014 04:13 AM

I with many of the others - Gray it is!

Seaside gal 04-01-2014 04:25 AM

I like the gray best but if it clashes with the sofa gray it may not be the best choice.

nls 04-01-2014 05:32 AM

I would use white.

rprue 04-01-2014 05:39 AM

IMHO white or black.
The white will give a fresh crisp loo. The black more dramatic.

While grey would be nice ... unless you can match to the grey couch, you are running a huge risk that they will not, and thus, your quilt will look disastrous with the couch.

I agree!

trolleystation 04-01-2014 06:41 AM

Gray for me, too. Gray is the new white in the quilting world.

jarenie 04-01-2014 08:38 AM

The grey has a more elegant look where the white looks so plain.

janeknapp 04-01-2014 08:54 AM

Ask your niece which one SHE prefers. I always check out the colors with the person getting the quilt. Then the color isn't my problem/fault any longer.

Wanabee Quiltin 04-01-2014 08:59 AM

Gray makes the other colors stand out. So I vote: Gray.

GrammaNan 04-01-2014 09:17 AM

If the couch is gray then if you use the gray sashing it will disappear. I like the gray a lot though. If you use the white it will pop against the sofa better.

PenniF 04-01-2014 10:36 AM

my vote is for the gray too.

AlvaStitcher 04-01-2014 10:41 AM

gray gets my vote too. It will be beautiful.

linynp 04-01-2014 11:08 AM

Just to twist it up further how about a lighter shade of green from the leaves?

MargeD 04-01-2014 11:44 AM

I vote for the grey, as you have several grey or grey toned fabrics. I like your fabrics.

marcycn 04-01-2014 12:14 PM

Black for sure... it would look dramatic and expensive. If not black, then darker gray. Just MHO. :-)

nena 04-01-2014 12:20 PM

The gray. Don't know why just like it better.

nena 04-01-2014 12:22 PM

Can you tell me who makes the striped fabric with the flowers? I would love to have some of that. Thanks

Dakota Rose 04-01-2014 01:12 PM

I think it depends on what you are wanting to end up with. Gray is calm and blending while the white makes all the colors (even the gray) really pop. The black would make the whole thing very dramatic and elegant. Love your fabric especially the yellow flowers.

AnnieSue 04-01-2014 01:16 PM

A dark gray.

joyce888 04-01-2014 01:24 PM

I LOVE these fabrics from Loralie Designs! I think both look good, the gray kind of reads more serious and adult. The white reads more playful and summer.

Madgie Rae 04-01-2014 01:26 PM

What is the company that made the striped fabric with the flowers . . . crazy about it!

lbc 04-01-2014 02:19 PM

I'm in the minority but I also like the white. I agree that it makes the fabrics pop. I love your choice of fabrics. Whatever you do, it will make a lovely quilt.

Vat 04-01-2014 02:39 PM

I really like the grey and then a dark binding.

Dawnmarieodya 04-01-2014 09:42 PM

Gray makes the colors pop. Happy quilting

Gladys 04-01-2014 10:35 PM

I vote for gray.

Painiacs 04-01-2014 10:57 PM

Grey- whhite too stark for me

psquared52 04-02-2014 04:20 AM

Gray is definitely more sophisticated.

nana20010 04-02-2014 08:09 AM

gray the one

pokeygirl 04-02-2014 10:30 AM
