I had the same thing happen, beautiful colors that just wouldn't work because of the uneven cutting. It was suggested to make a mark at 2 1/4" on my machine to the left of the needle. That works for the narrow strips and makes all the seam allowances wonky but the pieces accurate. I won't buy another Bali Pop.

I am sorry, fabric is to expensive to not have it cut right. Penny

Quote from above: "Hoffman's replied that there had been some quality control issues at the factory in Indonesia where the strips are cut which have now been taken care of."
That's enough to let me know I don't want to buy from them. All of this "outsourcing" of goods and services to 3rd world countries (cheap, sometimes slave labor), is costing the U.S. jobs and why so many U.S. factories are closing down--and resulting in our getting shoddy materials. Forgive me for getting on my soap box. |
I loved the 'in hiding' note in my introduction but I can't find anywhere to update details - I am in Western Australia - have been patchwork quilting by hand for 25 years, machine quilting for 5 years and now combine the two hobbies. Trying to find time learn free motion quilting ready for using a frame with quilting machine, but there aren't enough hours in a day and I don't have stamina to work 24 hours a day - as a working mother all my life I only had time to knit, now in retirement I don't have time to do everything I want to because we spend more time thinking and are less organized when not racing against the clock!!
Have enjoyed a few of the Margarita McMahon videos this morning, thank you. |

Location (where are you from?): fill in the blank and click update general info. |
Sorry, I meant to say 'machine embroidering for 5 years and machine quilting only for 9 months - In June '09 I got hooked on Pam Bono quilts and made 6 in 8 weeks and now need to learn machine quilting!!

sounds like someone ought to send Hoffman Fabrics a link to this board so they can see how their poor quality product is effecting their profit...people don't buy, they don't make money.

I saw the Bali Pops at the Houston Quilt Festival and thought they were gorgeous, but wayyyyyyyy too expensive. So, I didn't buy them. Now, I'm so happy that I passed on them. Hoffman should stand by their product and refund dissatisfied customer's money.

I bought some that I just love. I haven't opened the pack & examined them yet. I was planning on making a quilt, but will try to find something else to do with them. Thanks for the info. Linda

All of these can't be bad, can they? Can someone who has NOT been disappointed with them please post before I open a Bali Pop that I bought recently?
Thanks! |
