Somebody goofed on the sales. What a lucky haul!

KatFish 06-05-2011 01:18 PM

Congrats on your great find!!! The Centennial badge means that it was made in 1951. You can go www.singerco.com and find out the modle and year it was made with the serial number.

TonnieLoree 06-05-2011 01:18 PM

3.00 for the whole thing??? That is amazing! Pictures or not, I have paid 3.00 for office supplies that consisted of dried ink in pens and pencil stubs. Good job!

alikat110 06-05-2011 01:41 PM

Lucky find

Divokittysmom 06-05-2011 01:43 PM

$3.00? That has to be one of the best finds ever!
My big sale 'find' has nothing to do with quilting - got a Vita Mix blender (say $370.00 retail) for $15.00 at a yard sale once - still using it. But your gem is even better! Congrats. I'd have made the purchase just for the cabinet.

sewgull 06-05-2011 02:11 PM

You got the best deal I have heard about,

antiquegirl68 06-05-2011 02:17 PM

I was just excited to get the stool and the cabinet. I thought the sewing machine must have been junk since no one was outbidding me on it. I am new to quilting and have two sewing machines already but I really don't know much about sewing machines.

Candace 06-05-2011 02:18 PM

I would have jumped on that!

Greenheron 06-05-2011 02:23 PM

Way to go!

Bonbonary 06-05-2011 02:48 PM

You can't lose with a sale like that! Maybe the auctioneer never opened the cabinet to see if there was a machine there. Too bad for him. You got a great deal!

cowgirlquilter 06-05-2011 02:52 PM

What make is it? It looks like the label says Dial S Sew? Is that right? You must research this - you might something rare. It sure looks great.

GrannyHanaDa 06-06-2011 06:30 AM

You have a great find.

luce321 06-06-2011 09:49 AM

I love your machine, never heard of this one. Good for you.

incoming2me 06-06-2011 09:59 AM

I'm not familiar with this machine, however, a Google search on Centennial Series brought up a lot of stuff!
(Dressmaker Centennial Series)

There is a very nice threading diagram:

I also see several places for instruction manuals.

Congrats on your steal of a deal!

Well, that's for Singers, but this one's not a Singer. Very cool looking machine!
