I went to an auction yesterday and they had a sewing machine stand and the stool well when I looked inside there was a sewing machine (Centennial Series) Anyone heard of it? I got it all for $3.00. Woooohoooo:)

pic pic pic!!!!
Somebody goofed on the sales. What a lucky haul!
Congrats on your great find!!! The Centennial badge means that it was made in 1951. You can go www.singerco.com and find out the modle and year it was made with the serial number.
3.00 for the whole thing??? That is amazing! Pictures or not, I have paid 3.00 for office supplies that consisted of dried ink in pens and pencil stubs. Good job!
Lucky find
Wow! Congratulations to you!!
Okay, we're having a curiosity breakdown. Serial #?? And a picture, please. Excellent find.
Here is my picture.
$3.00? That has to be one of the best finds ever!
My big sale 'find' has nothing to do with quilting - got a Vita Mix blender (say $370.00 retail) for $15.00 at a yard sale once - still using it. But your gem is even better! Congrats. I'd have made the purchase just for the cabinet. |
You got the best deal I have heard about,
I was just excited to get the stool and the cabinet. I thought the sewing machine must have been junk since no one was outbidding me on it. I am new to quilting and have two sewing machines already but I really don't know much about sewing machines.
I would have jumped on that!
Way to go!
You can't lose with a sale like that! Maybe the auctioneer never opened the cabinet to see if there was a machine there. Too bad for him. You got a great deal!
Woooohoooo-clapping and smiling for you....

Way to go!
What make is it? It looks like the label says Dial S Sew? Is that right? You must research this - you might something rare. It sure looks great.
You have a great find.
I love your machine, never heard of this one. Good for you.
I'm not familiar with this machine, however, a Google search on Centennial Series brought up a lot of stuff!
(Dressmaker Centennial Series) There is a very nice threading diagram: http://www.sewusa.com/Threading_Diag...ng_diagram.htm I also see several places for instruction manuals. Congrats on your steal of a deal! |
