I just know that I have trouble putting in the regular size pins. I have bought two others that I thought might work, but even though they said they were skinnier, I still have problems with them. I have been looking at the flower head pins, think I might pick some up tonight in town.
Thanks for all the answers!

I love batiks too! I just use regular pins too, but they are harder to get in. Guess I need skinnier ones too.

I found a great pin. The clovers were too long and thick. The flower heads too long which allow more bend. They're called Dritz #16980 Extra Fine Glass Head .5mm shaft. A smidge thicker than the flower heads, but shorter and sturdier.

Left Dritz, center Clover Flower (.45mm), right Clover Glass Head.

I use almost entirely batiks these days, but have always used Dritz extra fine glass head pins (from JoAnn's) for everything. I don't like flat head pins...too hard to pick up cuz they're, well, flat.

Thanks for the numbers on this! I will look for them this evening when DH takes me out to dinner!
