Anyone mention silk?

I made a king 120 width x 102” length. I had both Quilters Dream wool and cotton Select batting and couldn’t decide which to use. I wanted the lighter as it was going to be used in Florida. Finally, I weight them on my scale and I was surprised that the wool was lighter. It is not that heavy. Perfect the last 1 1/2 months with just a top sheet.

A few quilting friends that live in Hawaii use pre washed muslin for their quilt batting.

A dear lady friend in Texas wanted me to make an Irish chain quilt for her queen size bed, so I did as a gift. I used a wool batting thinking it would breathe in the summer and keep her warm in the winter. She tells me that she can't use it because it's too hot for her and she smothers under it. This cost me hundred of dollars and it simply sits in a closet somewhere. From there on out I only use Warm and Natural.
