I love Quilters Dream batting - more drape-able than W&N

I am loving the roll of Warm and Plush that I have right now. It's 100% cotton, no scrim, and thick and fluffy with beautiful drape. It's very affordably priced on Overstock or Walmart's online stores, often with free shipping.

I found the answer to my ? at the Warm Company's product information at the link above. Warm and Plush quilts up to 6" apart. Spray basting is not advised as re-positioning the batting my pull apart the cotton. |
Depends on how you quilt. I hand quilt and Warm and Natural is too hard to quilt through. I like Quilters Dream and recently discovered Pellon 90/10 at Wal-Mart for 6.97/yard. You might see if they sell it by the bolt. Otherwise, I shop around for whoever has it on sale when I need it.

This is a great thread! Thanks!

Marshall Dry Goods has Hobbs 80/20 96" x 30 yards for sale at $110 a roll, plus shipping. I'm on my second roll and love using it.

When one of my local quilting shops closed, I could no longer get Quilter's Dream on a roll. If I know I'm going to get several bed quilts done, I can order an entire roll. Right now, though, I just order a couple of packages worth. Warm and Natural is fine, and I do use it, but my family want WARM quilts and a poly or poly blend is warmer than W&N.

I used to use W&N from JoAnne's but since there's not a store nearby I have gone online to look. I find Quilter's Dream 70/30 is similar to W&N in looks and quilts nicely for me at least. I try to buy by the roll as I hang it up over my cutting table. This last roll was king size so doubled over. Most of my quilts have been 105" and over so this works for me. I save my scraps and tape them together to make another piece the size I need using batting tape. Never have had any issues with the pieces coming apart after quilting.
Who ever has the sale at the time I need a new roll gets my business. |
I am currently using Warm Blend which is Cotton and Poly blend. Recently I tried Fairfield Poly and it was a disaster. Never again. When I need to get more, I will try the Dream company's options.
