I agree, it was meant to be! I think that blue peeking out really makes the quilt.

I haven't done any paper piecing, and so far it hasn't appealed to me, but maybe this quilt will be the quilt to get me into it. Someday.

Rebecca, your quilt is beautiful!

Each PP block is only 2.5 inches square, so an easy size to work with and most of them are quite simple PP shapes.

The layout pattern itself is quite small and a bit difficult to read, I think I ended up enlarging it on a copier.

Thank you SO MUCH for that information. Do you think it would be easy to make the quilt larger?

Rebecca, thank you for showing your beautiful quilt. I think the addition of the pale leaves is an excellent choice.

I really really really don't need any more patterns, but I think I will have to order this one.

The easiest way I can think of to enlarge the quilt would be to add a border. The small blue "stream" goes diagonally in the background would be offcenter if you tried to add more leaves to the pattern, and the leaves appear over and under each other in a very balanced way in the pattern.

The other way to enlarge would be to size up each block in the grid. If you are good at math or experienced in enlarging blocks, I don't think it would be difficult to draft the individual blocks to larger size. They are based on making small squares into sections with regular angles (45, 30 and 60 degree wedges cut out of squares). I redrafted the PP blocks myself based on math rather than trying to photocopy the large sheet of paper, but I didn't change the block size.

I made this quilt at least 10 years ago. I was just thinking last night that I would like to make it again with batiks. It's really not hard to do

It looks like it would be a fun challenge but I have too much on my plate the next few months to commit. Rebecca S, your quilt is lovely.
