The subtlety of the centre intrigues me - a truly beautiful quilt.

cowgirlquilter 03-20-2012 03:54 AM

This is literally jaw dropping!

solstice3 03-20-2012 04:28 AM

You just have to admire the beauty and expertise of that quilt. It would take me 9 years to do such a thing...if at all. It's a "wowser!"

callen 03-20-2012 05:03 AM

After seeing that "spectacular" quilt, I am humbled to say that I quilt. Not even in the same category -I am a "hacker" compared to that amazing quilt. She did that & has 3 children, OMG. She must be the Martha Stewart of quilting (not to insult her as I find M. Stewart quite annoying). There are no words to completely describe this spectacular quilt. Kookoos to her. BEAUTIFUL.

She said the quilt took her 9 months to make, and she mostly sewed from 9 pm until 3 am while the kids were asleep. (I remember her saying her oldest two children are 9 and 11 years.) Are you ready for this??--She made the quilt entirely on her Bernina! Awesome accomplishment!

And if Bernina doesn't snag her for advertising, they are missing the boat! It IS a breathtaking quilt!

Iowa Grandma 03-20-2012 05:30 AM

This is amazing. When I look at the center, it appears as if the middle is pulsating. Did anyone else have that feeling?

sandrabrueggeman 03-20-2012 06:33 AM

That is awesome, great work. Thank you for sharing.

glorcour 03-20-2012 06:40 AM

Cannot imagine ever doing something like this let alone sew from 9 pm to 3 am. I would be a complete and genuine ZOMBIE

jansquiltn 03-20-2012 06:41 AM

Sorry to miss the show. Maybe next year. How I would have loved to see this quilt. Very pretty.

elliot 03-20-2012 07:13 AM

gramquilter2 03-20-2012 07:22 AM

That is a fantastic quilt.
I wish my Bernina could sew like that!

stitchquick 03-20-2012 07:43 AM

Well, I didn't go to the show but I can understand why you selected it as your favorite. It is beautiful.

lisajane 03-20-2012 09:35 AM

Geeze Louise!! Absolutely Stunning. I don't even know where you would begin with this quilt? What an accomplishment, not to mention an heirloom that will be passed down for generations to come. Jaw dropping.

cat2quilt 03-20-2012 10:38 AM

Wow! That is truly a work of art.

QUILTNMO 03-20-2012 10:41 AM

wow looks like alot of work went into making that

LauraRG 03-20-2012 10:54 AM

That wide border is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. I keep imagining so many ways to set those components into blocks for a quilt top... like using the 4 corners as a wall hanging. Or setting the lengths of the border back to back, with the "V's" squiggling back and forth along the rows. Or other colors... or... or... or...

Krystyna 03-20-2012 11:26 AM

What a beauty.

turner0106 03-20-2012 12:09 PM

Anyone ever seen this pattern? Do you know where I could get it? Skill level currently not at this level but hopefully one day I will try it and would like to have the pattern. It is a true work of art.

Diane

Just WOW! Totally gorgeous.

#1piecemaker 03-20-2012 03:00 PM

Glory be!! How amazing is that? I long for the day that I can do work like that!

psumom 03-20-2012 03:20 PM

I saw the quilt, the quiltmaker and her "diagram". She was showing everyone the paper pattern that worked from! Amazing!

zkosh 03-20-2012 03:33 PM

Truly unbelievable. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Learner747 03-20-2012 04:21 PM

Such a thing of beauty!

bluesnowdoe 03-20-2012 04:24 PM

Wow is all I can say !!!!

Mousie 03-20-2012 04:51 PM

wow...and I say that once in a while, but this time, holding my bottom jaw so it doesn't slam the floor! wow!

JustAbitCrazy 03-20-2012 07:15 PM

Diane, it is an original pattern she drew up on paper. She had the original draft there and was showing it. Maybe she'll release it as a published pattern someday, but for now, it is not available.

Quickstitch, much of it was paperpieced: the mariner's star points and the red and blue interlocking "V" shapes were, I remember.
