Beginner fun

Since my last fiasco that almost had me turn in my stash, I decided to go simple and oh so cute. I have a curiosities layer cake with yardage for borders , backing and binding. I'm loving how easy it is and the break it is giving me from the intricate stuff, not complicated, just plain fun. The quilt that had me stumped turned out okay, not great but once I did simple quilting, it does have the obvious pattern of white around blocks that I was looking for. Thanks for all of your encouragement. We have a new quilt shop (I know the owner) opening soon and I'm going to get right into a beginners class and learn technique over complicated. I'm excited again. Thank-you,thank-you

GREAT IDEA….I too find that working on something simple that I can complete quickly (I call it instant gratification) allows me to relax and de-stress from working on the more complex stuff………..CONGRATS to you on getting there so quickly! Keep us posted on your class and your new projects….

HAPP?Y QUILTING!

I'm happy for you that you did not give up out of frustration. Being aware of where you can profit from the experiences of others is an important concept. There are lots of sources of help-the board, the internet, You Tube, guilds, friends, etc. We all need to be willing to reach out to others for help we need and to be willing to offer our knowledge to others to help them along their journey. We all need to do some simple projects that go quickly and give a feeling of progress. I also like to work on something more challenging. Keep going!
