Since I started this thread my machine quilting has improved. My problem was that I didn't practice enough!

I don't understand why you would want to lift the foot while free-motion quilting.

Thanks Susie QOH, I just learned some things. It never occurred to me that I could unplug the BSR, Ha! Ha! Haven't gone
near my 830 lately. It refused to play nice with monofil thread....I'm still nursing a grudge.
