I sew on my exercise ball - best decision I ever made was when I changed to it.

I gave in and bought the Arrow sewing chair. I love it. I got the wooden one with the low back. I can sit and sew all day with no backache at all. It is a quality piece of furniture that looks like it belongs just exactly where it should. I got the sewing theme fabric in ivory. It is truly a must have item for me.

I went to the googles to check it out and am intrigued by the fact that you can store stuff under the seat. My first thought was: Hey, here's where I can store my chocolate and the lovable but insatiable locusts I live with won't find it!

I did like the idea of the storage in the chair but cannot find one with the higher seat needed for my tall sewing cabinet;

My grandson hides his treasures in the seat storage. I find Hot Wheels, dinosaurs, Army men, rocks, and one time a sweet note saying no one was 'allowded' to see inside but Mamaw.

It reminds me of the old piano bench at my grandmother's house where sheet music was kept inside the seat.

PBraun - Office chairs are very comfortable for sitting in for long periods of time. I too use an "armless" chair. Staples is having a sale on office chairs and they are offering free (no minimum) delivery. You might have some luck finding a chair comfortable for sewing there.

I use a bungee chair I got from the container store. I got the one with no arms. It adjusts up and down very comfortable.

Thanks Bonniejp...Staples has a lot of reasonable choices.

If you need a taller chair, check out drafting stools (adjustable with backs,no arms) at office supply stores. I got one for my long arm and use a regular office chair without the arms for my sewing table.

I recently purchased a new adjustable desk chair from Wayfair. Normally not a fan of buying furniture without checking it in person but I could not find what I was looking for anywhere at the time. It was actually quite inexpensive (about $60??) compared to anything else I was seeing and is they style/shape I wanted. I don't use this for sewing because it has arms but just suggesting you may want to check out wayfair.com once you decide on a style you like.
