Congrats on your anniversary, your new machine and most of all your sweet hubby. I would say he's a keeper, but I bet you've already discovered that. So happy for you.

Momo 08-25-2012 09:03 AM

Well, you have a great DH and he should be a keeper forever! Congrats to you. Have sew much fun with it.

jcrow 08-25-2012 09:05 AM

Wow!!! Better make the next quilt for him. You gave him a hint by leaving the machine on your wish list and now he's giving you a hint by asking when you are going to keep a quilt. I'd hurry and do it for him, since he's such a keeper! You must be a keeper, also. You must take good care of him for him to do this on his own. He truly wanted to make you happy and it sure did. I am so happy for you!!!! Isn't it funny that you don't know how bad something is until you get something good? Like how loud your old machine was? And it's nice you don't have to pay an arm and a leg to get a machine that you love. My first machine was the cheapest one by the brand I wanted and I used it for 20 years and now my daughter is loving it. I think it will last forever! Never had a problem with it. Nothing fancy at all. Don't think they had thread cutters or threaders in 1976. I only used the straight stitch. I made my clothes and then my kids their clothes and finally started quilting with it. Then I went up to a little better model. Congrats!!! Glad you are so happy with your new machine!

damaquilts 08-25-2012 05:25 PM

that's wonderful. And I love the first line of stitching. Mine cost way more and doesn't have that one. :)

JudyTheSewer 08-25-2012 08:14 PM

I'm so happy for you! It is so nice to have good tools to do the job. A quieter machine will be a joy and I am sure there are many great quilts to come from you and your new baby! Your husband sounds like a sweety, I am glad for you.

Merivale 08-25-2012 08:26 PM

How exciting what a great DH oh yeah the new machine is pretty cool too.

Pilgrim 08-25-2012 08:52 PM

Great husband. He is a keeper. My husband bought me a new serger last year for Christmas and I never would have dreamed he would buy something like that for me. Usually we don't exchange gifts. So I was shocked. As long as your machine does what you need that is all that counts. Just because it isn't the most expensive doesn't mean it can't do all you need. I sew everyday and I don't have a really expensive machine but mine does all I need. Free motion is the thing I love the most.

Pickles 08-25-2012 10:09 PM

What a sweetheart you have , now make him his own special quilt he deserves it!

Arleners 08-26-2012 03:43 AM

Congrats! A new machine is so exciting. It is fun to figure everything out. I hope you have a long happy relationship!

MattieMae 08-26-2012 04:47 AM

I love hearing stories like this. It looks like your machine has a lot of great features. I don’t know what that stitch in the middle is but I like it, and of course the stitches on the top line are precious. So much fun!

Be sure to tell your husband that the ladies on the QB think he’s wonderful.

Grannyh67 08-26-2012 05:29 AM

Happy Anniversary!!! great gift and sounds like you have a keeper :)

Roberta 08-26-2012 05:57 AM

You've got two winners there, your DH and your new machine, congratulations and Happy Birthday.

primbears 08-26-2012 08:03 AM

Wow, what a keeper. Mine is in the best DH running as well. He spent two days driving me around the Western part of the state on a shop hop. He also paid for my purchase at all but two shops when I found great treasure.
