I also go to my Church's Fellowship Hall to cut on the large tables and also to pin my quilts, batting and backs together. I also use the large space on the floor with a couple of flannel backed table cloths as design walls. I take photos of different designs, and then view them on the computer at home. I can roll them up and change any of my designs later. We hold our quilting Guild at my Church fellowship Hall. I too find it easy to get down it's the getting up that is getting more and more difficult

SewNso, when you lay the quilt on the table to rest for the night, am I correct in thinking that part of the quilt is hanging on both sides, and possible on the end to allow the weight to shift in that direction? I'm thinking that I am following your description, but maybe not. Gerbie

I have a friend who did just that....moaned ^& groaned about how dull her shears had become all the time she was cutting, she had a fabric & a rug garment when done...what a laugh

Repeat after me......Spray basting is fast, easy and washes out wonderfully!!!!!!

I, too, have done the "pin to the carpent" thing. Not a lot of fun.

I go out to work and lay the quilt on the lobby floor. (I work at fast food). There is enough room for a king size with no problem. This is one of the reasons that I am unable to quit work.

That is so funny! But then, whatever works! Keep on quilting!

Love it - most people work to pay for their habit of quilting, but you work to have a place to lay out your quilts for basting. Got to love that one!
