I wanted to share a little story about some excellent customer service.
My dear friend Sara decided that she wanted to make a wallhanging for herself, from a pattern she used in past, that has small Hawaiian shirts on it. Her late husband Benny loved to wear shirts with bright, loud, wild fabrics & she wanted to use them in the wallhanging. She searched & searched her sewing room, and couldn't find the pattern anywhere. Then she went online, only to find that it was out of stock everywhere she found it. But she did find out that the pattern was by Beyond the Reef, so she went to their website & emailed them what she was looking for, and why. Within 20 minutes Beyond the Reef emailed her back, asking for her address so that they can send her the pattern - at no charge! She was so surprised & elated, that she wanted as many people to know as possible about Beyond the Reef...and I couldn't think of a better place than here on the Board to let people know.

Wow. So nice to hear there are people who still go above and beyond. We tend to hear about the "poor" service waaaaaaaaay to often.

When I tried www.beyondthereef.com, all I got was a co that does tours of the FL keys. Please give me the correct Email, so I can send them an 'attaboy, too!

Me, too, and I'll let them know that because of their kindness to a hurting soul I've come to them.

Thanks, Sweetie, for sharing. How is she doing?

Wonderful fabrics and not so bad prices, didn't look at the shipping but love the brights!

What a great story! Thank you very much for sharing.

On a side note...I thought when I clicked on it that the Subject said Beyond the Beef! LOL I just got up, maybe that explains it, I don't know.

Sue--what an fabulous story!! I love to hear of companies that have a heart and really value their customers. I have bookmarked their web site....thanks for sharing.

A similar story......when I was in Knoxville recently for the quilt show, my friends and I went to a LQS called Mamaw's Thimble. The owner was absolutely the sweetest woman and when she found out that my friend's husband was in the Army (in Iraq) she gifted a quilt book to her. My friend was going to purchase the book to make a quilt for her husband and while she was checking out she was chatting with the owner about it. When she was paying for her purchase, she told her that the total was not high enough for everything she was buying and the owner said-this book is my gift to you--thank you to your husband for his service to our country. My friend was shocked! So---if you are in Knoxville, Tennessee shop at Mamaw's Thimble!!!! She does not have a web site or I would be buying from her online. There are still wonderful people out there.

sandpat 08-30-2009 03:21 PM

Marcia, I will tell my grandmother to start shopping there. She lives in Knoxville so she does need to check out that store. I love stores and places of business that value and appreciate their customers!
