I too have the electric..and use straight grain binding. Love it!

I use the Clover bias binding 'thingys' I have used them for a long time and really like them. Takes a minute to get the hang of just how to handle them, but really it is not at all hard. I have some metal bars in different widths
that were made to sew your fabric together lengthwise and run the metal bar through t so that the seam is on the back side. I used them a few times before I bought the Clover's and you can do the job with them, if you don't mind handling hot metal. I never use them any more. |

:D What is WOF and LOF I can guess it means width of fabric or length of fabric! See how fast I am learning.... I think I need to post on here more! Width of fabric & length of fabric. Here's a link to some of the quilting acronyms. http://quiltinggallery.com/2009/04/2...ters-acronyms/ I was so lost till I found a list like this! I hope this helps. :-) |
Seldom is bias binding necessary on quilts. Bias binding is only necessary on rounded curves. Quilts generally have square corners and straight sides so straight of the grain binding is all that is necessary.

I bought one about 20 years ago and have never used it. I think I tried once time, but was such a pain. I guess I figures it was a solution for which there was not a problem.

I love your questions. They give answers to people who then don't need to ask. Thanks.

A while back someone posted about using safety pins to fold and iron you binding. Maybe someone can remember that>
