I like the dark brown.
I think I would also audition the flower print on the bias.

I agree with TexasSunshine. I think a dark blue like in the flowers would be a great binding color.

I also agree with Texas Sunshine and Tessagin - I'd choose the dark blue!!!!

I've been thinking of adding some applique in the sashing around the house block, but don't know if I'll do that. It might be more work than I want to do and the space isn't that big--maybe 3 inches top & bottom and sides a little less. Maybe I'll look for some buttons to sew around it. I just don't know!

I'll probably bind it with a medium blue fabric--I guess that means another trip to Joanns! I want to have it completely done by next Thursday :)

I still like the brown on this new border. It will act as a picture frame, and in the other picture of the brown binding, I found it to be restful. I think the plaid, although I love plaid, made me feel frazzled.

I vote for the brown.

I love the plaid. it just seems to add the perfect finishing touch. The brown is safe and looks very nice, but given a choice I'd go with the plaid. With all the answers you just got don't you feel like you are still wondering?

I agree the brown reflects the inner border. It makes a nice resting spot and it is a very nice shade of brown. The plaid doesn't really go with the rest of the fabric in the wall hanging.

I vote for the solid color--Brown or Red. The plaid doesn't show up very well. Save it for the next quilt that needs color!!

I like the brown binding best, as it seems to suit the quilt better. Nice job, love the setting you used for the block.

I LOVE the plaid!! This is a really neat little quilt, there's lots of movement, it's got dignity with the Jacobean fabric, and it's simple with the house block. All the other little blocks add a kind of sweet whimsy...You're on a really cool roll...take a chance and keep the momentum. The brown is nice and safe. again, I love the plaid.

I would go with the brown - and what a GREAT job!

I LOVE the plaid!!!!!!!!!! It's intriguing to me all the opinions and ideas we see on the board. That's what makes living and getting to know others such fun. To me there is no question . . . I immediately was more drawn by the plaid, but in the end . . . it will be your decision . . . and that's what makes our work so individually unique! Blessings to you . . .

I like the brown, the plaid is nice but it's too busy for this quilt. Beautiful quilt!

I like the dark brown. It makes the wall hanging non gender specific. And it compliments and frames the flowered fabric beautifully. And I agree with auntpiggylpn, using it for the inner & outer border keeps the consistency. I don't like the red plaid at all and the light beige does nothing for the piece. Your gut feeling was right going with the dark brown.
