binding help

I am making this orphan block into a lap quilt or wall hanging for a friend. I liked the colors in the Jacobean fabric from my stash, although I'm not sure it suits the mood of the house block.
Anyway, I thought I would use the plaid bias binding but now wondering if it doesn't suit the style of the flowered fabric either. Maybe the brown fabric would be better. (I tried the beige fabric too but think it is too blah--I don't have enough of that fabric anyway.) I also have the muslin colored fabric with the light green print, although I didn't audition that for binding. The rest of the fabrics in the quilt are from my scraps. What do you think? |
I like the bias plaid but it does get lost a little with the flowers so bold, the brown is good, I also think a dark blue would be a good choice.

I like the brown.

I like the brown - it frames the quilt like a mat on an oil painting!

I like the brown fabric. I think it works because it is the same as your inner border.
i do like the plaid border too but I think that it is too busy with the Jacobean fabric, which is beautiful btw. Your center is very nice but not fancy smancy and I think the floral with the plaid will detract from the center. |
I like the red plaid binding best. however I also am not quite sure if the floral border is the best choice.(as you had mentioned). Maybe a border in the red plaid as the border

My vote is for the dark brown. The plaid just doesn't do anything for me and seems a little busy with the floral. But I am not very adventurous either....
