That's a great idea! I usually end up with the bulk of the quilt over my shoulder and the binding wound around a piece of cardboard and falling out of my lap. WOW THANKS!

Well, I think you're a clever girl! This is a great idea for our small to medium sized quilting projects (even some larger ones really since binding isn't all that heavy even for a larger project, though it does get bulky) and for those concerned about voiding warrenties, not a problem if you don't overload the "binding spool" with binding. I think common sense comes into play here and since most of us are pretty smart cookies, I don't see this being a problem for very many of us! :D :D
