Binding is my favorite part. I dont know why but I think it's because you can see what it looks like when it is finished.

Have you watched Sharon Schaumburg's 'Binding the Angel'?

I'm with you on joining the ends! Someday I might learn how to do it without struggling

Don't know about the glue thing, I've only used it on dog quilts but I've talked to others who have used it.

I do find if I press my binding after pinned before stitching that it lays much nicer. My instructor described it as 'let's show it how to behave' :-)>>

Practice makes perfect!

You are very welcome:). I found it fairly recently and was so excited to try it out. I have finished 3 bindings with her method and all came out good. Before this I always had that binding 'bump' that I always hated!

Edited to add: I didn't get it right on the first try until the third one. Never cut that end off until you know you've got it right!

doing one always leads to the next

I agree...my favorite too, next to picking out the fabrics. I guess it has something to do with finishing a quilt. I cheat and put binding on the top b4 quilting, if I am quilting stitch in ditch, or something similar. It's much easier to sew to one layer, and my last stitch is in the ditch of the binding, then it's off to hand sew it down...very relaxing.
