I usually hand sew all my bindings, but have lately machine sewn a couple of charity quilts.

This is the machine method I like:

You can make it decorative by using a feather stitch.

I hand sew mine and they hold up well. Glenn

Ditto!

Hi! I just finished a quilt and accidently sewed the binding on the back first. I didn't want to take it apart and the Quilt police were nowhere to be seen to I just sewed on the front. I hand sewed it but thought about machine sewing it.

I usually sew to the front then hand the sew the back but lately I've been experimenting doing it all by machine. I guess it will depend on what it is. ;)

I cut my strips 2 3/4 inches wide, fold in half and press. Machine stitch on the top, and hand stitch the back.

Same here. I like the way they look.

I have done both. The hand stitching looks a lot nicer.
