Binding techniques

I'm hand binding a quilt. For those of us that prefer hand binding, do you whip stitch yours, or do what I call the hidden running stitch where you run the needle under the binding edge and then grab into the quilt again. Binding takes so much time, but I like this last way as the stitches seem to be hidden for the most part.

I do the hidden stitch, with a double every 6 inches or so to lock it in case of a snag.

I do the hidden also, but I lock it every 4th stitch. I enjoy binding while watching tv, so it doesn't seem to be a chore for me. LOL

For years I did the ladder stich, but recently changed to the hidden running stitch.

As I hang my head, I have to say I don't know how to do a hidden stitch.

I was taught the blind stitch, but naturally gravitated to a ladder stitch on my own. I don't mind hand stitching a binding. I'll do it during certain jobs at work (where I have to sit and wait) or while watching tv.

Oh, and ever since someone posted it, I make sure not to make "snouts" anymore on my corners... https://www.quiltingboard.com/links-...s-t287729.html

I do a hidden stitch but run my needle just under the backing in the batt and come up for a tiny bite of the binding. I stitch down my corners as I bind and do a knot every so often that I bury in the sandwich.

I do a hidden stitch also.

The hidden stitch is a good one. I also do it while watching TV and it makes it go by faster as quilts seem to enlarge for me when binding :D
