I read all the posts for white fabric and I'm looking for a good, solid black fabric.

Seems that there are as many shades of black as white - brownish, blue, even greenish - and I've read that the dyes used can cause the fabric to disintegrate over time.

Any recommendations?!?

You are so right about the colors of black. Kona makes a True Black that I like.

Kona, but the Kaufman Kona. Not the one from Joann's.

yup, Kona black :) i like some of the batiks but they fade to some pretty weird shades sometimes...the Kona seems to be pretty consistant and a good quality fabric.
