Have any of you seen those black mesh/elastic back rests? They were selling like crazy at the Paducah quilt show for around 9,10, or maybe more dollars. Guess what? Dollar Tree has them for ONE DOLLAR!!!! I got one the other day and have been using it in my car. I LOVE IT!!! I'm going to get a couple more for my sewing chairs upstairs and down.

There was a discussion on a these couple of weeks ago here on the QB. I got mine at Dollar Tree too and I love it. Glad I got mine when I did because they are all gone now.
|
Yes, I paid $6.99 at the Dulles show and then bought 3 more at the Dollar Tree for $1/each. Crazy. Well, I hope the man & woman that were selling these needed the money they made. They certainly had the right idea for us quilters.

Don'tcha just love a bargain? (I borrowed that from a Christmas Tree Shop ad who borrowed it from someone else then claimed rights to it!)I'm gonna check my Dollar Tree and $ Stores. Thanks for the heads up RaptureReady. :o)

Thanks for the photos as I didn't know what they looked like.
OK, just revised my afternoon schedule: supermarket for mill, rolls, t.tissue GoodWill for fabric, shirts, etc. for my quilts $ stores for back rests. If I find the back rests think I'll pick up a few, sewing chair, computer chair, cars, dh's recliner, etc. Glad I stopped by for a look see at the message board while drying off from my shower. Thanks for the picture!

That's just what I've been wanting for both my sewing and office chairs. I'll get a chance to go to Dollar Tree today so will check it out.
|
Yikes, I paid $17 for mine several years ago. But I still use it. They are really helpful.
|
Thank you for sharing this with us :D:D:D

Ohh, nice! thanks for posting this and the pic. too. Dollar tree here I come
|
Yeah, saw them selling these at the AQS show in Lancaster. I didn't ask the price, but smiled as I walked by. Friend had put me onto the dollar store last Christmas, and DH picked up 4 for me. I love them. The recliner one is bent out of shape (bias) but I use it anyway.

I have one on my quilting chair! Bought at ASDA supedrmarket for £5.99. I use it all the time.

I got mine at our local Walgreens a month or so ago for $4.00!
|
We saw them first at the fair. They were selling them $20 a piece or 2 for $30! They were wonderful. I bought some last year at a CVS $5.99 each or 2 for $10.00. (the first store only had one} When I went to find more at another store, a few weeks later, they were in the 90% off bin. I bought 5 or 6 and gave them as gifts. Will be checking out the dollar tree.

Boy, I am going to check my Dollar Tree. I have never seen anything like that in ours.
|
I got a couple of these at a fair. I love them.

I love mine! I found one a Goodwill this summer, for my mom. She has all of her quilting friends wanting them now :0)

I bought three last year at the Lancaster show. I think they were about $6. Worth every penny but it would have been nice to pay a dollar. I'm using it right now on my computer chair, have one in the car, one on the futon in our second bedroom.
|
FYI! Dollar Tree in West Chicago, Il has 2 cases out lol
|
Saw them at the Dollar store in Menomonee Falls WI and thought they were a gimmick, now I wish I had picked one up. I could use one in the recliner where I set most of my idle time.
|
I have two and find them completely useless.
|
hmmm, guess I'll be making a trip to the Dollar Store today! Thanks for the tip.
Blessings, Carol |
I'm going to have to try this!
As to the comment about the folks at the quilt show: it costs a pretty penny to have a booth at the quilt show. And it is a convenient and exciting place to buy the latest and the greatest. Also, from what I understand there are different 'qualities'of materials these things are made of. And the 'little guys' (quilt stores) don't have the huge volume of quantities to buy down the price like chain stores do. Not that I won't be one of the folks going to the Dollar Tree ... I will. Just asking you cut the quilt show folks a little slack. Nothing is more disheartening as a shop owner to find what they thought was an 'exclusive' has been undercut and sold at discount chain stores. Debbie Mumm is a good example of quilt store 'cross-overs' to retail. I'm not a quilt store owner but I was around the buiness enough when I was a national educator for Pfaff Sewing Machine Co to know some of the challenges they face as the 'little guys'. I checked two Dollar Tree Stores and neither had them. I was bummed because I wanted to buy a bunch for presents.
|
Not Me and I Don't Know put a hole in mine and now it isn't as bouncy and firm. I need to go check out the dollar tree and take it out of their allowances!
