Block Rockit Longarm

Our LQS has started to offer individualized class sessions on the Block Rockit machine. After taking the session, a quilter can rent time on the machine.

I am interested in hearing from people on the board about that machine. What are your experiences? What are the positives and negatives on the machine?

Thanks!

I have seen nothing but positives about the Block Rockit on the Yahoo groups I frequent. Sounds like a great opportunity to try out the machine.

I have heard great things but keep in mind it is not a long arm it is what is considered a midarm because of the smaller space to quilt. So the amount of quilting distance would be the only thing to consider when planning out your quilt top for it. Are you looking to invest in one as they are very affordable.

Mine came via UPS at 17:45 on 10-7-15. I am sooo excited. Comes with instruction CDs. Hope to set it up this WE.

I have had one for over a year and I love it. It is very easy to use, comes with a built in stitch regulator and 4 modes of stitching, and the support from Kathy Quilts (who developed it and sell it) is great. They are always willing to answer questions and if they can't, they refer you on to the Grace Company, who manufactured it and now sell their own version name Q'nique. I can honestly say I have not regretted my purchase at all.

I wish we had space in the house for a quilting machine. At this time I am only interested in the possibility of renting time on that machine.

Thank you all for your input. It sounds like this would be a good machine to try out.

I have one of the first that came out last year. Absolutely love it. I have the Grace SR2 frame but they now have a 10' frame especially for it called the Launch Pad. The machine sews so smooth and has a lot of standard things on it that are extra on other machines.

We have a yahoo group if you would like to join us and see how others like it.

All I know is a few quilt stores are doing the same thing near me. One way to try it out and when you can afford to buy one.

Has any one had a problem with thread breaking. I just got my Block Rock it, tried to sew today and the thread breaks every 5 inches, changed thread. What should I do.

I think that's very smart for quilt shops to give lessons & then rent out their machines. It's very expensive to have a quilt go to a professional long arm quilter & this way you can quilt your own for a whole lot less but still have a satisfaction of completing the whole quilt yourself. Plus, you have someone there in the store to help you if you get into a jam using the machine.
