great tip and I have seen it b4, possibly from you but have not used it yet, I've been using the pony tail things for securing bobbins but like that you can see the color of the bobbin on your suggestion as well as writing info on the tubing

Do you find that cutting with a serrated knife leaves the edges jaggedy- or does it matter? This is the best idea yet as I too have trouble with wt and poly/cotton.

It has cut pretty smooth but you could trim the edges after cutting with the scissors if needed.

Great idea. I think this is a real problem for people who use a variety of weights of threads-I'm one of them and I know that I cannot always visually tell the difference when looking at a bobbin. I mentioned on an earlier post that I use little plastic bags that are intended for jewelry findings to store bobbins that have unusual threads on them. But, I like your idea also.

On my way to the hardware store. Thanks, Tartan!!!

I love your idea - would really keep the threads identified and not wasted because you don't know for sure what they are.

Thanks for the tip. I hate the constant threads being loose. This idea will really help me.

Great idea! Thanks for sharing!
