Bobbin storage

1 Attachment(s)
I use the clear hose cut into segments for keeping my bobbins neat. The hose segments have extra feature of using a sharpie to mark what kind of thread is in the bobbin. I also like to save the little clear acrylic boxes that come with Rochet(sp) chocolates. I have one for my bobbins and the top goes on if I need to take them to a workshop. I have a whole row of the acrylic boxes on a cookie sheet in my sewing room. I store all the little things like safety pins, straight pins, machine feet etc. so they are close at hand.

Sometimes I'll buy a product because I want the container.

Neat Idea Tartan!

Great idea Tartan! What size hose are you buying? I had been looking at those bobbin saver rings, but your system looks like it would work better for me.

Onebyone--I've done the same thing.

Mine measures 2-1/4 inches around with the tape measure. It is about 1/8 inch thick plastic and if I use a ruler to measure across the open end of the tube its 6/8 th. I bought mine at Canadian Tire but most hardware stores should have it maybe in the plumbing department?

Clever....and I bet it keeps the thing from unwinding and making a mess of your drawers, too!

I"m so un-innovative. lol. I use a little box (wood for the 301 and acrylic for the Bernina) with those little hair holders (whatever they're called lol) around the bobbins to keep the thread from unwinding.

I have bobbin box specific for each machine. 401 and 2662. I just wet the end of the thread and press it

This is exactly what I'm using also. I did find it a bit of a pain trying to cut them evenly so my husband purchased the 'cutters' deaigned for them and now it's simple to do. I think we invested $10-15 for them but it was well worth it!
