Bobbin Winder

I have a Bernina 1090QE and I am tempted to ask DH to buy me a Bobbin Winder. Anyone out there have any experience with it? I noticed that there is now a much more expensive model. I wonder if it is worth the extra money. Thanks.

I have the original one and it works fine for me. No problems at all.

I bought one and took it back after winding or should I say attempting to wind a bobbin....it was very loose and not up to my likings at all...others love them and then others like me detest them..so you may want to try it and make sure to keep the receipt...just in case

I use one all the time, although for Christmas last year and I got some pre-wound bobbins that I just love. They are much tighter wound and go forever. LOL

I have a Sidewinder and I love it.

I would say buy it and try it. I have a winder on my new machine and it is great.

I bought one of the first winders and it would not wind the bobbins for my BabyLock Quilter's Pro which is what I needed to do. I returned it but have wondered if the newer ones were worth the money.

What are the newer ones called?

I got one of the original ones too, and it works great. I can pretty much wind any bobbins except for my Juki.

I use my cheap sewing machine for a bobbin winder when I'm using the big Girl to quilt. I also use it for non-quilting sewing so I don't have to change my settings/foot, etc. I love having it do bobbins, tho. I got it for $20
