The best series I have found are Harriet Hargraves Quilter's Academy. It will be a series of 6 books, 4 are already out with #5 due out next year. They take you from the basics to designing your own quilts.

I've seen these. How are they? Are the first ones really basic?

I just need to say thanks to everyone who has contributed! If I look at the rating at Amazon almost all books have at least a 4.5 out of 5. Nothing beats more personalized advice.
