I vote for mitered, too. It's a little more work, but always looks stunning. I was really bummed on my current quilt when a measuring error resulted in having to do overlapped borders instead. Those look okay, but a mitered border is always nicer. Just take your time measuring & pinning & you'll get it! :)

The mitered corners came out good - easier than I thought they'd be.
Could I get a little more advice? How should I quilt this? I read that an Irish Chain should be quilted with long diagonals through the center of the squares. I don't feel obligated to do it that way, but it sounds nice to me. Should I do every diagonal row, skip one, go in the other direction for an "X" effect, other? How about the borders? Parallel lines? Suggestions for quilting color? I have a milk-chocolate brown that's slightly lighter than the darkest brown in the quilt which I thought might be nice. The back is unbleached muslin; should I use a bobbin thread to match the back? Do I ask too many questions? (That's another question, isn't it?) Here's the photo again (pre-miter) for reference:

Beautiful quilt! You did a good job. Sorry, I have no advice for the quilting, just had to say how much I like your quilt.

Thanks Dina, I appreciate the feedback. I probably should have started a new thread to ask about the quilting.
