Dina, Please tell us more about the quilt. The pattern name? Was this made in large blocks? I love it both ways but vote for the border.

My first reaction was no border until I saw the border you chose. I say border.

I'm definitely not in the majority here, but I think it needs a white border (I'm assuming the the background color is white.) before you start the purple ones. I don't think it needs to be very wide, just enough to separate the borders from the quilt. I'd audition it, at least.

It is called Ridiculously Easy Jelly Roll Quilt and it is free online....simply google that. It is made up of 29 strips, each 70 inches long. I started with a jelly roll, but you could make your own strips. I didn't find it ridiculously easy though, mainly because I kept cutting some of the pieces the wrong size, and I got really bored sewing the 29 strips together.

Thanks for the thought. I did audition the small white border. It just didn't appeal to me. Nor did a small turquoise one. (I have been play "decide on a border...or not" for about two days now. :) )

I was thinking it needed a border but had no idea what you needed and then I saw your second picture and that is a wonderful choice. It will be beautiful. I think the border just frames out your nice quilt beautifully. You go girl!!!! Please share a pic when you finish.

I think a border really sets it off. I like the idea of a softer narrow border then the bolder print. Any of the colors in the top would work to that same effect, simply a matter of which one you want to feature. BTW - really, really like this quilt!

The border really adds a new dimension!

I can see where it would get boring sewing the long strips, but your result is stunning. I like your bolder colors. Here is the tutorial. http://frombolttobeauty.blogspot.com...elly-roll.html

I too like the border!
