Can you help me decide if I want a border on this quilt. I have been trying to decide all day....

Thanks.

Dina

when i saw the first pic, i thought 'no'. after seeing your border choice in the second pic, i think that is what you should do! it's so pretty!

ekuw 01-12-2018 12:24 PM

It looks good either way. I would make the decision based on how big I want the quilt. If you want bigger add the border, but it looks fine without :-) Nice color palette!

Watson 01-12-2018 12:28 PM

Yes. The border creates a frame and sets it off, IMO.

Lovely quilt.

I am not usually a border person and at first I too thought no. Then I saw your possible borders and changed my mind instantly. It really looks sharp with the borders.

Austinite 01-12-2018 12:34 PM

i think it's gorgeous either way, if you want bigger then border, if you don't want or need larger than I'd do a narrow binding and start snuggling under it! I love the purple fabric on the super wide border but I think a teal or green would be better for the narrow part in the middle.

meyert 01-12-2018 12:36 PM

I love that border!! go for it

Irishrose2 01-12-2018 12:39 PM

Border for sure, but with a darker inner border.

MadQuilter 01-12-2018 01:26 PM

Without border is more moder, with border is more traditional. Pretty either way.

Totally agree .... takes the whole quilt up a notch.

quilting cat 01-12-2018 02:13 PM

Yes to the double border! It really finishes it off.

Dina 01-12-2018 02:13 PM

Thanks, everyone. I can't tell you many times I have switched back and forth with this. You have been very helpful.

I like your border sample. The border looks better to me, but either would look great.

I absolutely Love your border fabric, so if it were me I would choose the bordered quilt, but no borders is the more modern esthetic so if that is the look you want to achieve, no borders it is. LOVE your fabric choices and pattern!

I think this one works better with the border, and I am not much of a border person.

Mariposa 01-12-2018 05:02 PM

Yes, for borders! Pretty purples too!

Teen 01-12-2018 05:07 PM

Definitely border! This is stunning...

dunster 01-12-2018 05:16 PM

The quilt would be pretty with or without, but I think you've picked the perfect border fabrics, so I would definitely use them.

Boston1954 01-12-2018 05:48 PM

With the border it looks great. Frames it up really nicely.

maryb119 01-12-2018 05:53 PM

I vote for the double border. It frames it nicely.

Jingle 01-12-2018 06:41 PM

I feel the same way. The border really finishes off the design. Beautiful Quilt!

notmorecraft 01-13-2018 12:08 AM

Ye the border frames it beautifully

eparys 01-13-2018 03:58 AM

The quilt will be beautiful either way. But ... The border you have chosen is perfect. Gorgeous choice of fabrics for the border and imho finishes off the quilt.

patinpoconos 01-13-2018 03:59 AM

Yes, the border makes it!

sharisews 01-13-2018 04:13 AM

Either way it is a great quilt. I vote border. Love your choice of fabrics.

momsobon 01-13-2018 04:26 AM
