what color will you use for binding? i'm thinking that repeating the inner borders with a thin outer border of the blue and binding in orange would work well.

Love the quilt and the name is to die for. Very clever.
By blue do you mean the fabric with the little crescent moons on it? I like both with and without a border. Here is a scrappy batik sampler I did with no border: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...t-t221823.html If you auditioned and you like the look of no border and just the blue binding I say go for it. But have you considered, maybe a 4" blue border then bind it in the bright orange? That might be a very different and cute look for it as well. |
I think a border would look great and tie it all in.

I would repeat the sashings like that around the center panel. Love the colors and scrappy look. Did I say I also love cats ? Hugs

You could use a border of the blue you plan to bind it with. That would add more blue than just the narrow binding would.

I vote border but is is great the way it is.

I often make quilts without true borders and think they look fine. One thing to remember is that this is a throw. It isn't going to be viewed in its entirety very often. Be sure it's the size you want, but don't stress about whether it "needs" a border.

Love your quilt! I am working on a Irish chain right now and am asking myself the same question. I do like the borderless look but for your particular quilt I think with borders. I would make the outer border a couple inches larger than the inner just to funnel your eye into the center. Whatever you decide its going to be great.

I don't understand the lone row across the bottom. I would use that as a border around all sides and bind in orange. Very scrappy!

I love it, a border will frame all the beautiful colors. I see some Laurel Burch fabrics in there, aren't they great. BTW, love quilts name!
