Which border?
3 Attachment(s)
I just finished the center of this Bargello and am looking at borders. I thought I wanted the black, but now I am thinking one of the reds.
Which do you lean towards? Thanks for any input. Dina |
I like the black, but either will be beautiful!!!
the black shines best but the last red could do well too.
I like the last red.
I like number two, the deep crimson.
I wonder what the brightest red would look like, with a pretty wide binding of black to close the quilt up.
I like the cat.
The Black is wonderful with this quilt. I would make the white inner border a bit narrower. A lovely creation. peace |
I like them all, but the black makes it brighter and it seems to pop. The red seems to quiet it down. So I guess its what you prefer.

i think the black with the inner white really makes the red in the bargello pop
Just to 'muddy the waters', I wonder what one of the greys would look like. When I have a dilemma like this, I put one possibility on half the quilt and the second possibility on the other half and then walk away. Over the next little while I revisit the room and glance at the quilt. The possibility that I prefer usually jumps out quite quickly.

Both will look great.
How about the red with black binding. |
I would be interested to see a black stop border instead of the white, and then the top red for the wide border. Don't overthink this one; they all look great, so whatever you choose will be lovely!
I liked the narrow white and wider black better than the red ones.
How about taking photographs of what you have in mind a look at them. It is amazing how different things look in photos as compared to "real life." |

I like the graphic look of the black but the red is pretty too.
I like the black.
I like the middle one
And I love the cat :) |
Thanks, everyone. I appreciate your opinions. Still thinking here...I have to buy more fabric unless I select the black. :)

I really like #3, that red is perfect.

I like what you have in the first photo... with the black. Very striking and dramatic.
Love the black. The red will always pop out.
I like the black.
How about a gray inner border with a black outer border?
There already is a large amount of reds. I think the black will add balance and I really like the look of your black border.
I love the black border. I'm a red lover, but the black really makes the quilt pop!
Both look good, but I would probably do the black.

Definitely black. It pops out the inner design
if you want the red to be the star...pick grey or black. If you want the black to pop, pick the red. The border makes the matching color in the quilt recede some. Its just a matter of what you want the eye to 'see'
I think the black looks great!
I like the black too...but if you are set on the red outer border, maybe use the black as an inner border over the white.
I like black better.

I like the black the best, and next the third picture.
They both work very nicely. It comes down to who is going to receive it. What would their preference be?
I really like the black. Really makes the rest of the quilt pop.
I think the black i stunning.
I see your quilt inspector crept into the picture---what does he/she think?
I haven't read all the comments, but I would try it without the white inner border. I would try it with the gray in that spot.
