I like the brown/gold border and think it raises it up to a level of elegance, since your center blue fabrics look like they are all the same value.

is this border too heavy?

I already pulled out some mismatched (pinky) blocks and I'm left with this. I'm trying to take it up to a usable size (Bed) It's at roughly at 56x 70 and I'd like to get it up close to 65x80. Of the original materials I either couldn't see them as a large border or there wasn't enough.
Should I go to the store??? I only need about 3 yds. Thanks ladies MaryKatherine |
The border draws my eye out to the edge and away from the center. It also pulls out the gold dashes and they are strong. I am not opposed to that look.
I am a more harmonious person and like balance...so I would probably use a med/dark blue border with the gold...either way is OK...it depends on what you like. |
Great combination. Makes the blues pop. Good choice.

I like the boarder...it ties everything together!

I too, love it and how it frames the quilt like a piece of artwork. It also picks up on the same fabric in the quilt. Nicely done!

just my humble opinion, but I think what your seeing is the way you have it laid out for the picture. It gives an illusion of being physically heavy.
The color, print etc. matches very well  |
I love it!!!

I love the whole thing, including your border.
