I've been using Bottom Line (Superior) for a while and really love it. It plays well with whatever I use for top thread; I use it for both FMQ and piecing. What I REALLY like about it is that you can get so much more thread on the bottom than normal thread! I had the chance last month to take a class from Libby Lehman, who "designed" this thread ... actually, she told us that she gets to pick out the colors! And she did a good job, because they have a lot of nice colors to choose from.

I love Bottom Line, it is so thin but strong enough that I can't break it easily pulling on it. I sometimes use it on both top and bottom but mostly bottom. I can get twice as much thread on it. Our LQS does not carry any bobbin thread (50 wt or thinner) so I have to go over to superior threads and purchase it on line. Never regretted it.

We just had a class on thread at my embroidery group. Has anybody used BL on an embroidery machine? It takes SO much thread. You are often using several different threads in your design and it's a pain matching up bobbin thread. And expensive.

I use Bottom Line in the bobbin for FMQ and also for embroidery.

A very helpful topic. Thanks.

I just checked Bottom Line thread out on Amazon. For the 1420 yards spool it is $6.07. Not sure if you were to order 5 spools if it would qualify for their free shipping. :-D

I love using Bottom Line thread. I use it for the bobbin and sometimes in both the top and bottom. I also use it for embroidery work.

I've used a Sulky bottom weight thread for applique (satin stitch) with rayon on the top and it worked well. I've used "fine" thread by Coats and Clark for paper piecing. I've been able to buy these threads using discounts.

I love Bottom Line , for its thickness ( its very thin) it is so strong. The added plus is you can get so much more on a bobbin. I am a huge fan of Superior Threads.

I always use Bottom Line from Superior in my bobbins on my longarm and regular sewing machine. I usually use So Fine or Omni thread for the top thread. They really work great!

Love my Bottom Line thread. Use it on my LA and for anything that will build up stitches when sewing (applique etc.)
