I just got the 6600, and it's my third Janome, so yes, I'm sold on them. I just had a quick look comparing your machine to the Janome Gem Platinum. That's what seems to be the favourite for those purchasing a machine to take to classes and leave their high end (and HEAVY) one at home. NOt a lot of difference in the two, so I think you have a good one!

For the price difference and the number of DGDs that will use it, you'll never regret that little extra $$

I told the girls that I may just take it when I go to workshops! They were okay with it. The little Wisconsinite is just as excited. Think the 2 here will have a good time at Thanksgiving showing Nicole the ropes or should I say threads, etc. Looking forward to it, too.
This is going to be such a special memory for all the girls ..... for their whole lifetime!

my granddaughters learned to sew with my Singer 99K hand crank machine. They really like being in total control of the machine.

The sew mini isn't worth the $$ you did the right thing in buy and "real" machine...

They started out on my Janome 9000 and now love my Janome 6600. It is just way too much machine for them to use without me in the room. I need one that will have speed control to keep my younger GD from "flooring" the pedal. The one you got looks really cute and I may have to go look at it. I am sure my husband would prefer I look at one for them instead of the Horizon 12000 I looked at Sat for me!!

One for them ... and one for you! Just tell your DH that the dealer thru the little one into the deal. (which if you get them to sharpen their pencil, and lower the price, you surely could not leave the little one there! :)

Thanks for the affirmation, Leota :-)

I love the direction this thread is going; Maybe I'll have moderators add to the title in reference to teaching GC to sew.
